This hotel is filled with character; we stayed in the older part of the hotel which is obviously listed. I cannot say what the newer extension was like. Expect to find the limitations of a listed building, this includes uneven floors and dark beams but this only adds to its charm and gives you a taste of Tudor buildings. The...

Room very small. Had to move armchair and table to open wardrobe door. Breakfast offered little choice of none cooked food. Public areas were comfortable. Bar staff pleasant and efficient. Overall impression on entering hotel was good.open fire in bar was a nice touch especially on a cold winter evening

This is the second time we have used his hotel. The first time we were in the Garrick annex which I was not keen on, the room was large but a bit shabby. This time we had a junior Suite (room 212) and it was very nice and very reasonable at £109 including a very nice breakfast. It's nothing fancy...

Dear NicolaBK I was very pleased to read your review and learn that you enjoyed your return visit a lot more than your first. I've noted your comment about there being no yogurt available at breakfast and will certainly get this corrected - there is usually plenty. Now that you have established your "favourite room" I hope to see you...

The Shakespeare Hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of Stratford and very close to the main RSC theatre as well as the many good eating places. We upgraded to a Junior Suite in the oldest part of the hotel and were very satisfied, especially with the many complimentary extras such as soft drinks, newspapers and toiletries. There were also free...

It was ok..... I think they are a little confused about what they are. Are they a fine dining serious restaurant or are they a less formal restaurant where sill Christmas hats and social media posts are welcomed. I'm not sure both is an option.  Perfect location, the staff were very nice, particularly the South Africa waitress, my food was...

Thank you for your comments, MGL262, and I think your comments refer to our Marco's New York Italian restaurant - in which case I can confirm we are NOT a fine dining restaurant but rather offer quality food in an informal setting served by friendly staff! I will ensure your comments are followed up. I'm delighted you enjoyed your meal...

This is a beautiful old hotel. But our room had ancient ill-fitting windows and was draughty on a cold winter's night. The breakfast was excellent with a variety of food available. The staff were friendly snd helpful.

We're currently staying at The Shakespeare for my mother-in-law's 60th. If you like elegance and history then The Shakespeare is for you. The hotel is beautifully appointed, the staff are all very helpful, and the rooms are comfortable. What's more, the WiFi is free without having to log on, which is a nice and convenient touch. If you're in Stratford...

We went for one night on a special deal. The hotel looks fabulous from the outside, parking is off a side street but is accessed on foot from the back of the hotel and costs an extra £10. Breakfast was offered for around £20 extra so we declined as there are some lovely cafes/ restaurants locally within walking distance at...

Very easy to find if driving and it has an excellent location. The black and white exterior really gets your hopes up that this is going to be a unique experience.
