Great location near the quayside short walk to town . Great price for the room which was basic clean and a good size. All staff very helpful and welcoming. Bed was comfortable. First time staying at a easy hotel would definitely visit again
I've stayed in a few easyHotels in my time so I was prepared for a no frills experience. However, I was surprised to get a really spacious room for 2 people. The room was clean and had all the essentials. If you're in Newcastle for the night and don't want to break the bank for your stay, I'd recommend this hotel. It only cost us £36 for the night. Check in and check out was really quick and the hotel was really well located by the Tyne Bridge. The only negative was that our window was covered up but it could be opened.
First and foremost a big thank you to all the reception staff I met over the course of the weekend. Everyone of them put the bigger / flashy hotel staff to shame , great knowledge of local area and like a friendly bit of banter also. The bed and pillows were fine , bathroom was immaculately clean . Well positioned hotel for the Quayside and city centre is literally on the doorstep. As I frequent Newcastle a few times a year it feels like I’ve been overpaying elsewhere as this is really my favourite. See you all again real soon and thanks for everything at the weekend.
Was up in Newcastle for a job interview the next day so didn’t want to spend a fortune on a hotel, now when you book a hotel for what comparatively is peanuts you approach with some trepidation. I need not worry the staff were friendly and welcoming after a bit of a nightmare journey and the room itself was clean comfortable and perfectly formed, there was nothing about it that said cheap! I’ve stayed in more expensive hotels and they really dont compare
Pros: - Shower: controllable pressure and temperature. - Location: hotel is located in a great area of the city; 10-min walk from the train station; 5-min walk from the Tyne river; a lot of pubs and restaurants nearby. - Cleanliness: room and bathroom were spotless. - Price: fair price based on location. Cons: - Bathroom: quite narrow. - Housekeeping: no hand towel given (only two shower towels); hand wash scent was given off putting. - Room: left-side of double bed was up against a wall - making it hard for the person on that side to get out of bed without disturbance; only 1 small bin in the room - situated in the bathroom; air-con could not be controlled - permanently set to ‘off’; no TV remote given - TV had to be controlled with button on underside of the TV frame; room had a window that looked out onto a brick wall. - Checkout: 10am checkout time.…
Location is great but room was dirty with hairs in shower. Is basic hotel room but at least expect tv to work, but remote had no batteries and only way of sorting was to go down to reception as no phone. No ability to control aircon either - there is a pad in the room but whatever you press has no impact (I have visited numerous hotel rooms so not human error!). Worst experience for a very long time and will never use easyHotel brand again.
Faeces on the wall! Checked in hotel dumped bags then went for a pre booked meal and drink. On return noticed there was actual human faeces on the wall smeared. Went to reception but there was a large group checking in and we were tired. Checked out the next day and again a large queue and just one member of staff. My partner emailed to complain and was told that there is no way of her proving what was on the wall! We have photos attached! And that it is our fault for not saying anything then in same email saying member of staff has been retrained ? I assume the training previously didn’t state if poo on the wall then clean it???? Anyway also offered 20% refund. Basically avoid unless your into that sort of stuff
So this was our first time staying in any Easy Hotel after seeing them in many a city. We didn't have huge expectations and after our stay I can understand why, however if you wanting to visit Newcastle on a budget then this could be for you. Upon arrival the best thing this hotel has going for it is it's location. You minutes away from the main city centre and only a short 10 minute or so walk to the train / bus station. Your only a mere minute walk away from the famous Tyne Bridge and River Tyne. So what is the hotel like. The reception staff and staff we spoke with were very down to earth and friendly. The hotel as a whole was very clean. We stayed in room 1 which is a disabled friendly room. The room was quite large however their are no windows and I will say the room is next to a staff door that seemed to lead to housekeeping. We could hear people coming and going throughout our stay. The bathroom was nice and big however the shower didn't have a great water pressure, that being said it was nice and clean. The bed was two singles pushed together which is disappointing and this sadly made for an uncomfortable nights sleep. One thing this bedroom had in it's favour was a full length mirror and a table and chair, however the chair was not very comfy and if you were to sit in it for a while, I could see it causing back pain. Would we stay here again no... but not because it was overly terrible, we just prefer little luxury's that don't come with a budget hotel. If you want to stay in Newcastle on a budget it's well worth considering this hotel for the location alone, we used this place on this visit as a base and we paid £27 for the night which is a great price. The downsides you are reminded it is a budget hotel and it basically does what it says. This time it worked for us even with the issues we had within the room but next time were go back to having little personal touches that this hotel does seem to lack in for us too consider a return visit. The two star rating is mostly due to the location and the price we paid, however had we of paid more I would of knocked off another point. I do think this hotel is worth a maximum of £30-£35 a night and no more, the points off are for the water pressure and bed as neither of us slept well and we were checked out at 5am. Two most important factors in any hotel stay feeling clean and refreshed from a shower and a good nights sleep, neither we had here. So it just depends if it's basically a base then your be fine, if you want a little more I would say look around as their are plenty of hotels within the area, and if you do stay here then don't have huge expectations, or have great water pressure or a nights sleep so maybe consider looking around. We won't return.…
I am diagnosed autistic and my one night stay was lovely; Spotlessly clean and fresh smelling Lovely staff Quiet and restful hotel Nice views outside of the window Hot water in the power shower Would definitely recommend and will stay there again.uo
Ideal place for the price. Only 1 problem and got resolved easily. Little bit of noise in the morning don’t know if was the workers or what but was very loud. Shower was good pressure. Only 1 towel per person no hand towels. No where to sit in room except in bed but not a major issue
