birthday/horse racing weekend with 5 friends. We booked 2 rooms at good prices and from the moment we arrived in Newcastle we were being well looked after by firstly Peter, our minibus driver from the hotel to the lovely Meg who is a real character. Brilliant sense of humour who is full of good information and many stories from her... More

Stayed here for one night before flying on a holiday with three friends. It is really a guest house and when we arrived the lady who took our payment could not have been more helpful or talkative. She was a character, in the good sense, and could not stop chatting away. The two rooms we had were both 4 beds... More

Stayed in this hotel way back in 2011, 14 of us on a Stag weekend. We was put in 4 & 2 man rooms, all en suite, nice little rooms which included showers, tea and coffee facilities and a nice little fridge. Hotel was close enough to walk to the bars nearby, was simple enough for the stag do and... More

My hubby and I stayed at the Hansen Hotel for 4 nights while on our jaunt around Newcastle. It is situated about a 5 minute walk from Jesmond Metro and is also convienient for buses. We were made very welcome. Although we had booked a double room, we were in a room for 5 people. We slept very well and... More

Me and 3 mates stayed for two nights as we were visiting Newcastle for the football. This family run B&B was ideal! Well located within walking distance of the city centre, nightlife and football ground. The friendly staff were very helpful and our room had everything we needed. With local parking available too, this hotel is highly recommended... Thanks so... More

I'd like to thank Meg and everyone at the Hansen Hotel for the fab weekend stay for my best friends hen party! We were all staying on the same floor which was perfect for getting ready together and it was fab that we could sit outside in the sunshine drinking our prosecco. It was basic, but fantastic value for money... More

In Newcastle for my stag do so wasn't expecting anything amazing for the hotel. I was a bit nervous when the taxi driver was telling us how it was a bit of a dive and the owners were arrogant etc. I was pleasantly surprised! Meg has that place running really well. She could not have made us feel anymore welcome.... More

Unfortunately felt very let down by accommodation. 7 single beds, no window to see out, poor plumbing works and awful beds. Great for hen or stag parties not ideal for couples. Breakfast poor with view of kitchen to see everthing not cooked fresh. Owner very helpful with local knowledge. Parking costs £5 extra

Owner was friendly enough, but the hotel was terrible, dirty dank and dark. I would rather have slept in the car. If I thought I wouldn't have been charged for the stay I would have walked away, in fact I wish I had!! I know you get what you pay for and we were looking for a cheap overnight stay... More
