We booked a celebration meal for the early evening menu which ran till 7 pm. We were very impressed with the choices available and it compared well with the a la carte menu. The meal was excellent. We stayed the night in a lovely room with a garden view which included breakfast at a very good rate. We will definitely... More

The staff at Jesmond Dene House were all, without exception, friendly, polite and professional. We had a warm welcome from the word go from the reception team and consistently from the bedroom turndown service, bar and waiting teams. Beautiful decor maintained to a high standard and the setting is something of an urban retreat. Perfect

When I have had dinner previously it has been great. One request - when you are paying £200 for a room it's disappointing to be told... More

The hotel was superb; the staff exceptional, always at hand yet not overpowering. We liked the room although it was in the attic. Plenty of refreshments in the room and with a spacious bathroom. the room was comfortable. Communal areas were superb, there was a fire in the drawing room; it felt very homely. There was an array of "wire... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A grand house with contemporary style, a leafy setting near the heart of the city. Jesmond Dene House is neither a townhouse nor a country house hotel. It's simply 40 well-designed bedrooms and suites in a richly historic building offering understated luxury and rather good food. Overlooking the wooded valley of Jesmond Dene, the privately owned hotel guarantees peace, escapism and a refreshing change. Newcastle's city centre, however, is only a five-minute drive. The hotel recently received 4 red stars and the AA Hotel of the Year 2008-2009. ... more   less
