Good hot water in the shower and good heater in the room. No wifi in the room, but wifi at the restaurant/reception. We ate at the restaurant/pub and enjoyed the food, there was a good variety of meals including lots of vegetarian options and very friendly staff. The pub has good atmosphere and is very lively (especially considering we were... More

As above really. A tad expensive for what you get. I was in room 7 on the ground floor in Salmon Cottage, which was fine but for a few niggles. The signal to the tv was either 100%, or non existent. Watching a programme and the signal would just disappear, then come back minutes later! The shower was brilliant but... More

Keelman's has just 8 rooms. It is directly associated with the Big Lamp Brewery Pub next door. Think of it as a mini, basic, affordable, clean hotel with a friendly neighborhood upscale pub & restaurant next door. I stopped here during a Hadrian's Wall walk, and it was great. Clean, good food, no-fuss, friendly! This would make a perfect one-night... More

We stayed at The Keelman's Lodge while visiting family in the area. We very much enjoyed food and drinks at the local pub. And our stay was comfortable enough. The level of service was superb. Every member of staff was incredibly helpful and nothing was too much to ask. The accommodation facilities do seem to be in need of a... More

my wife and I stayed at Keelmans Lodge while walking harridans wall. Location is excellent, positioned close by to the banks of the Tyne. The B&B room was just what we needed after a long days walk. Clean, tidy, and a bath to relax in. We had dinner at the Keelemns, just 40 yards from the B&B. The food was... More

We stayed here for one night before the last leg of our Hadrian's Wall walk. The room was very comfortable, and the bar and restaurant were first class. The only downside was a lack of wifi in the room.

The keelman was my first stop at the start of Hadrian's wall walk. Bed was uncomfortable very springy, bath plug was broken as well as shower head, toilet flush also broken and tv remote had batteries sellotaped in to hold. Also only one key per room - issue if you are sharing. Wifi didn't work in room only in bar... More
