I stayed here for the first time a couple of months ago and have to say I was extremely disappointed. I chose this hotel for its location but that was the only positive of the stay. It is beautifully decorated downstairs but that felt like false advertising. I had an appointment at 3.30pm so was very pleased when it said...

Dear garda84, Thank you for your comments. I do believe that they are subjective to expectations as opposed to objective to overall experience. I think they are rather harsh to merit a 1* review to be quite honest and would be grateful if you would accord me the opportunity to discuss them further. My direct line is +44 (0)1912067657. Great location, just outside the train station. Went for a night out with friends and it also good location for pubs and restaurants. Long stay carpark at the station is £8 for 24hrs at the weekend. Pretty good for a train station carpark in a big city like Newcastle. Breakfast was good but finishing a little too early at the...

This a lovely little treat directly across from Newcastle Main as you arrive. Literally across the street, you don't have to worry about the fuss of a taxi or try to meander your way to the hotel. Upon check-in we were greeted by the lovely Stephanie. She was really helpful and knowledgeable of the town. She offered areas to eat,...

I had a great first time stay at Thistle. Considering the price I paid (£44 for 1 night), I wasn't expecting much but I actually got more than I expected. The room was fairly large for 2, the cleanliness was almost 4* quality and the whole experience was just flawless. I'd stay here again next time I'm out in town...

When you book a double hotel room you expect a double bed!!! The bed was a 'small double' which basically means a single. In short a bad nights sleep!! I wouldn't stay here again! Oh an matter hair in the plug hole.... Nasty!!

Room 512 was opposite the lift on a bend in the corridor. The room was very small, the bathroom was terrible. You couldn't sit on the toilet straight as there was a wall in the way (see photo), the shower head was not working well, water pressure was rubbish and temperature changed itself! The floor boards creaked, noise was heard...

Dear muzmund, Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay. I’m disappointed that your room was not to your liking.
