Top location by the river in Newcastle center. Hotel is stylized decorated. I had room with view of the river - perfect. Nice and large room with great interiors. Everything worked fine, including wifi.

My boyfriend surprised me with a night here for our anniversary and I loved it! The view is absolutely amazing, we stayed up till 3am because we didn't want to waste the night and the view sleeping. Breakfast wasn't anything special. My full English was tiny and didn't come with beans. Also if you don't like eggs your screwed because... More

Booked a 1 night stay on our holiday stop off in North East England on 25/07/16 after a night in York. Stayed quiet a number of years ago for a 1 night stay. Booked a front facing bridge view room (superior). Room only. Check in was quiet chaotic on arrival (Malmasion check in system down) no fault of 2 front... More

The Malmasion has such a great location with the Tyne on your doorstep and a great wee car park for the hotel less than 10m away (which the hotel validate your card for you - not everyone does that so thank you Malmasion!) Staff are very helpful, there was even small welcome cocktails on arrival I saw. Great food in... More

On our first night myself and one other female friend returned to our room and was talking about our great night. The door knocked and it was the security saying can we talk quieter. It's always a pleasure to come back the Mal in Newcastle. My husband and I are frequent visitors and I can't fault our recent stay for my best friends wedding. We had one of the junior suites and they are well worth the upgrade. Thanks for the bottle of bubbly team and see you next time! Breakfast was superb!

We booked a last minute stay here after deciding to go to the summertyne festival at the sage. Couldn't have asked for friendlier staff (especially Peter on reception), happy to store bags for us before and after our stay. Room was huge and well equipped, the only down side being the wonderful view of the offices 20 feet away. Luckily... More

Not cheap but by far the best hotel in town. Luxury all the way through the experience. Great staff, plush surroundings and the best location in this fantastic city. But don't look at the bill - it isn't cheap! Go on, treat yourself or someone special. On this occasion I was upgraded to a suite on the top floor which... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fog on the Tyne? Let's hope not. Otherwise you'll miss the great view of the Tyne Bridge you get from our hotel in Newcastle city centre. But then, when you're staying at Malmaison Newcastle, it's the views on the inside that tell you your boat's come in. While you're right at the heart of Newcastle's great shops and exciting nightlife, the lure of MALBAR's legendary cocktails and the Mal Brasserie's classic dishes with a twist is pretty strong. And who wants to spend all night out on the town when one hotel in Newcastle has a whole floor with a shipbuilding theme and bathtubs you could sink a battleship in? It could only be the Newcastle Mal. ... more   less
