A party of 7 visited in 3 rooms - the quality of the decor and rooms were excellent and we enjoyed time in the bar area. However ......... We were very disappointed with the breakfast on day one - the food was very poor when it finally arrived - (waited over 45 minutes for cooked breakfast) there was no organisation... More

Stayed here for my birthday with a friend. Check in was easy and had no problems. We had 2 queen beds and a room with a view. It was lovely inside very clean, great big comfy bed. We were on the 2nd floor with the restaurants underneath us. On our first night unfortunately we were advised to go to a... More

We booked this hotel for a two night stay as we were attending the wedding of our niece. This is a very well appointed hotel set in an excellent location. Our standard room on the 4 th. floor overlooked the Tyne and the millenium bridge, with the Baltic flour mill on the opposite side of the river. The room was... More

This is a hotel on the Quayside of Newcastle , unfortunately my room overlooked some office building rather than river view . Booking or rather change of details via Booking.com was a nightmare . Once in the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful . Not many places to have a drink after 11.40 .

We booked a getaway weekend, two nights, to tie in with a gig at the Sage, which is just across the Millennium Bridge. We had a river view room which was lovely - I had thought about upgrading but the suites etc are not river front rooms so I didn't. Think we did the right thing - the standard room... More

We booked in here for our son's graduation, taking advantage of the dinner, bed and breakfast package for myself and my husband. Parking in the dedicated car park opposite was smooth, Check in was also very smooth and the staff were so helpful and friendly. We had a standard room on the 6th floor. Now their standard is anyone else's... More

I was invited to afternoon tea with a group of friends to celebrate a special birthday. We went to the bar to wait for guests, I surprised to find it on the next floor so we had to carry our drinks down the carpeted staircase - quite difficult while wearing high heals! Bar was spacious well stocked but very expensive.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fog on the Tyne? Let's hope not. Otherwise you'll miss the great view of the Tyne Bridge you get from our hotel in Newcastle city centre. But then, when you're staying at Malmaison Newcastle, it's the views on the inside that tell you your boat's come in. While you're right at the heart of Newcastle's great shops and exciting nightlife, the lure of MALBAR's legendary cocktails and the Mal Brasserie's classic dishes with a twist is pretty strong. And who wants to spend all night out on the town when one hotel in Newcastle has a whole floor with a shipbuilding theme and bathtubs you could sink a battleship in? It could only be the Newcastle Mal. ... more   less
