Really friendly staff...all staff we spoke to were great and really helpful, breakfast was nice. Hotel itself is dreadful, we knew it would be noisy due to the location and it was a Saturday night, so we're prepared for that. The bedding in our twin room was clean but the rest of the room was shabby. Air freshener hanging off,...

The Waterside Hotel, is in the heart of Newcastle down on the Quayside, but within a 5-10min stroll ( up hill) to the main shopping area. There are numerous bars and restaurants right on the doorstep. Although the building is a ripe old age the interior has been modernized. The rooms are warm and cosy with Tea/Coffee facilities,TV, Telephone and...

We were attending a brass band concert at The Sage on Sunday. The hotel is in a perfect location, about a seven minute walk from this venue and The Baltic, just over the swing bridge. There are loads of bars and restaurants along the quayside, spoilt for choice. Be careful with The car park. It is across the road from...

We booked into the Waterside after arriving on an adhoc visit to Newcastle. The location - very close to the Quayside - is great. Pubs, restaurants and bars are in abundance. Short walk to the Millennium Bridge. There is parking across the street which was a big bonus. The hotel itself is accessed from a lift in the front entrance....

I am here in Newcastle attending a conference and I needed a hotel close to the Quayside along the banks for the River Tyne. For about £60 I got to stay in a clean, contemporary and good value hotel. The cooked breakfast was good, my room was small but comfortable and I also got good wifi for free. What was...

Came here for the weekend and was rather disappointed in the room size, seemingly we had one of the bigger rooms... hate to see one of the smaller ones. We were right next to the restaurant which was VERY noisy in the morning. The rooms were very hot and we couldn't open the window due to the noise of the...

We came for 2 nights, me and my partner, we arrived to hotel and the bedroom was very small! Shower leaked, with wear and tear throughout hotel. Next morning we complained as could not sleep though night as very noisy! So they moved us to a very spacious room which was more relaxing. The staff are great so welcoming! And...

The hotel occupies a handsome Grade II listed building steeped in history and includes free Wi-Fi, parking and the funky and lively late night bar "Jimmyz" open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays . The city centre plays host to an excellent choice of shopping and also plays host to the Theatre Royal, which brings in talents such as opera North and The Royal Shakespeare Company. The bar is located on the ground level or if it’s dancing you prefer, then look no further than Sea nightclub. Although the hotel doesn’t serve lunch or evening meals the immediate area boasts an excellent range of restaurants and cafes in which to enjoy any variety of meal. The famous Jimmyz Bar has been a landmark venue in Newcastle since the major re-development of the Quayside in the early 90’s.
