I'm a self employed contractor (key worker) carrying out essential work for emergency services. I have been staying at the Gosforth Park Hotel every weekend since March without issue providing my ID. Despite this, last week I was asked for a letter of authorisation from my employer by the hotel. I can provide a letter however, out of principle I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel need to appreciate there are more pressing issues for an emergency service to address during a pandemic than providing letters to hotels. I have now found alternative accommodation who respect the hard work key workers play during a national pandemic.

The spa wasn’t open on a Sunday so that was a disappointment. The rooms are clean and nice . There is no restaurant as such but adequate bar meals are served. Breakfast offered a buffet of cooked food but there were no pastries or toast and if one wanted capaccino they had to get from a separate area and charge for it. If one is looking for a stop over or mid quality place it was Ok but not for the discerning

A large hotel. Pleasant if somewhat dated. The reception area is very large. The room was large and has plenty of storage. The king sized bed comfortable. The bathroom clean. Has tv fridge Wi-fi and tea and coffee making facilities it has air conditioning but is quite noisy. The room was clean but again outdated. The breakfast was buffet style served to you due to Covid 19 extra charge of £10 slightly overpriced. The restaurant was closed but the bar served a small menu. All Covid 19 requirements in place. In the room it was paper cups not ideal

Booked this lovely well located hotel to complete our 9 day tour of Northumberland and good choice we made . From our check in for our 2 night stay onwards the staff were great in everything we requested and helped with the local area. Bus stop just outside to get you into the lovely town in 15 mins traffic permitting . Food and drink were fine and all areas were spotless and very methodical safety issues in place to move around confidently . Had a really nice stay and to cap it all the nice chap behind first desk told us of the woodland walk behind the hotel what a little gem , was nice to walk our breakfast down a little before our long drive home , highly recommend this hotel...thanks to all !!!

We stayed overnight as we were at a concert at the nearby gosforth park . The staff on arrival were very helpful and friendly . The hotel is very covid friendly . We stayed in a deluxe double room which was lovely and very clean . We are at hotel the food was very nice and the staff all well trained and friendly . We slept well in a very large comfortable bed . Breakfast was tasty and served by a very polite , friendly young man . We would definitely return and recommend.
