Just stayed for a Friday night, dinner bed & breakfast. On arrival the car park was full, however, the valet met us outside, he was very friendly and welcoming and parked our car for us. Quick and efficient booking in. We had a standard room on the 8th floor which was nice, a large bath and had everything we needed.... More

Just back from a one night stay to visit the theatre. Hotel is ideal location and has parking if you get in early. The room was great and had a good view from the 8th floor but there was no iron or ironing board. Not much of an issue if staying one night and could've asked reception for this. This... More

Stayed on a one night business trip & all was OK. But when I got my credit card bill in there was a completely unjustified & unauthorised additional amount they had charged to my room. I sent them two emails to info@vermonthotels.co.uk requesting why they had charged this amount & both have been ignored - great customer service as well... More

Lovely Rooms with a very well proportioned space, bath and shower, big tv and very comfortable bed. Only downside was no air con so a bit warm. Great breakfast in very nice surroundings and central in newcastle for access to quayside and town.

Vermont looks good from outside and public areas are well presented but the rooms are extremely disapointing. Its all on the luck of the draw how good your room is going to be. This time i was fobbed off with a room on tbe 10th floor that was dark, tiny. Trains passing every 15 minutes and noise of the bins... More

I stayed here with my wife for my birthday and for the night after I completed the Great North Run, I thought it worth a treat. Location is great the station is less than 10 minute walk, just off the tyne bridge, close to my type of pubs and bars. We had a room with a river view which was... More

A group of 22 of us had afternoon tea at the Vermont. Reasonably priced at £20 (no alcohol). Setting is pleasant in the dining room. The staff were lovely . So friendly and helpful. The food was good but I felt that the salmon sandwiches were a bit tasteless as were the cheesey ones too. The bread was a bit... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Few hotels can boast a more enviable city centre postcode than the Vermont Hotel, for this imposing structure is located in the heart of the City of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, not only next to the Castle Keep and opposite the historic Moot Hall, but also just two minutes from Newcastle's Central Station. Combining old character in the form of 1930s grandeur with contemporary elegance and four-star luxury, the landmark building is your base from which to discover the many bars, shops and attractions of the town centre and wider area. Look outside your window and you might see such sights as the River Tyne, Millennium Bridge or stunning cathedral, and it's not the only mark of the sheer inspiration of the Vermont Hotel experience. That's because the reasons for the hotel's reputation become clear with a stay in any one of its sophisticated bedrooms, which are finished in soft relaxing colours while also coming with a wealth of facilities for your pleasure and comfort, including - among others - private en-suite bathrooms, a mini bar and free Internet access. ... more   less
