Stayed here while leaving daughter to university . Hotel room was grim , no heating but offered blankets! Receptionist helpful and apologetic. No lighting except ceiling light. Toilet cistern intermittently buzzed throughout the night and one sheet only over mattress. Wifi didn't work. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at any price.

Where do we begin... as we arrived at the hotel reception, we were greeted by a young woman who was very nice (forgot to get her name) she ran through everything clearly and we went to our room 210. On the way to our room we had to climb 2 flights of rickety creaking stairs along with the floor boards....

We booked a night away to visit the University with my daughter. It was a cheap deal at £63 for the night. When we arrived the place was very busy with drinkers. The staff were lovely but the building is so tired and needs a lot spending on it to bring it up to a better standard. The staircase creaks,...

A friend and I visited for 2 nights over the great North run. We paid £105 per night for the room however I would've expected to pay no more than £40. The room was very basic, with a small TV that lost signal every ten minutes. The floors creaked and you could hear every conversation as people walked past and...

A change in plan meant that I had to go and do the Great North Run on my own, so instead of a week away with my love up by Alnwick, I looked for alternative accommodation in Newcastle itself. I knew that with a week to go, I might end up paying more to get somewhere decent and after trawling...

I booked for a stag do. I got a double bed to my amazement. We got told by the receptionist that's all they had. It was a put up or shut up situation. Rooms was poor. A toilet with no windows or vents. A sink in your bedroom separate. I didn't bother using the shower looking at the state of...

Went on a stag do in Newcastle and this was the hotel booked through a hen and stag company. In arrival we all paid a £30 deposit which was expected as there a few of us. The hotel and rooms are very dated and lack of investment is evident. Saying that the staff were all fine and friendly, the food...

We were looking for a hotel with excellent connections to Newcastle city centre but also with good local amenities. We found this at Whites Hotel. It is perfectly located next to several bars and restaurants and has easy access to the university and city centre. The reception staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for us. I would definitely...

I kind of knew what to expect as I stayed here some time ago, but sadly it's got even worse. The smell as you walk down the corridor to the room reminded me of the snooker club I used to go too, and even worse is the fact I think it's because they must of brought the carpet from there...
