Stayed at this hotel as part of a tour. The hotel is centrally located. It is spotless, the staff are very nice and the food which is a set menu for the tour is very good. The only critisim I have is the price of the drinks. Tea, coffee and sift drinks are good but for alcohol, they are extorsionate. for example a pint og Guinness is £5.95.
5 star review as per trip advisor overall very pleased all staff very good but two young people natalie and clinton went out of their way assist in any way could and deserve a mention hope this ok please excuse obvious mistakes.
Room was a nice size, could've done with a lick of paint as there were a few stains and marks on the walls. Shower floor was a bit discoloured but nothing too bad. Shower gel was mixed up as it was at the sink and the hand wash had been placed in the shower. Room was on the first floor and staff were having their smoking breaks outside regularly so couldn't open window often. Was disappointing that the TV was faulty, basic channels were missing and only had BBC at one point. Rang reception on evening to ask if the TV could be fixed, was told it couldn't because the maintenance worker had gone home, really disappointed as I wanted to watch the live love island final, would expect basic channels to be available/working. No alternative was given and I was looking forward to watching it so left disappointed. However great breakfast although it does finish quite early. Checked in online and just went to front desk to collect key cards, was not told when checkout was or breakfast times, had to research online myself through booking.com. Really good location, quiet room. very comfy clean beds. Complimentary drink on arrival was nice too. lobby area/downstairs was nice, outside seating area was good. Stayed in better 4* hotels but the price justifies it. Would book again if re-visting, can overlook the problems as its an affordable stay.…
We were extremely pleased with our experience. Our room was spotless, bed was comfy, location was great. The room was a decent size and all staff we encountered weee helpful and pleasant. We were very impressed with what we got for the price.
We stayed here for 3 nights. We changed rooms because there was a drain smell. The new room was much better however the hair dyer didn't work which was frustrating when we had a meal booking in town. The telephone didn't work goring down to reception. The breakfast wasn't the best, basic choice. The staff we spoke to were lovely and were happy to help just felt it was let down by other parts of our stay. The location was very good in the centre town.
We stayed 2 nights for my sister’s graduation in July. We had 3 rooms, two doubles and one double with a single which were which were very quiet with super comfortable beds. The location is perfect, so central. Parking was easy - Q Park Stowell Street with discount for hotel guests.
Booked for one night. Went down to the hotel bar- fantastic service from Nathan at the bar, made us feel so welcome great customer service skills. A asset to your team! Thank you for a great experience Nathan keep up the good work! We will be back!
Arrived late (10pm) on a Friday evening, had an all day meeting on the Saturday, then left 11ish on the Sunday, so I didn't make use of all the facilities or do much exploring The entrance is quite non descript ( to the point I walked past it 1st time, despite it being pointed out to me). This is not necessarily a bad thing as it's in keeping with the buildings around it Check in was decently quick, and I was in bed not long after. Note: you need your room card if you want to get too any floor with bedrooms (i.e. floor 1 and above). Breakfasts were reasonable, though on day 2, only filter coffee was available. Teabags were hard to find on Day 1. It was tough to find the milk (silver urn), the juice glasses (under the juice carafes), and quite honestly, I never found the butter for the toast. Bar Wine prices are equitable to London Prices, where it's £8.50+ for a single glass (£25+ for a bottle). I had gone outside previously and didn't fancy walking around post 7pm (The aggressive beggars immediately outside the hotel doors are NOT the fault of the hotel). The meeting room was decent, sized etc, and both that and the bedrooms had reasonably easy to use aircon. The bedroom had a good sized and comfortable king size bed, the bathroom was large and with a double sized shower/wetroom. The window was small, but it opened wide enough for a breeze. The view was of rooftops, but I was not there for the view! I had arrived just as a local Friendly football match had just let out, and there were plenty of drunks wandering outside. I'm going to give the hotel credit for me not hearing them, or my friend only waking up as security were attempting to break up a party in a room a few doors down from her! In summary: yes, this is a 4* star hotel with decent rooms in a city centre location (I was a few minute walk from the train station in the end). I had a very good deal, but I found the list price of a room (£600+ a night, immediately post COVID) to be rather steep. I would not have been able to afford it without the discount…
Good location close to the station and city centre, easy walking distance to the University. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast good with some healthy choices. Staff very efficient and friendly.
Stayed on Sunday night. Bed breakfast and evening meal. Excellent stay from check in to leaving. All staff are so friendly and helpful. Meals were gorgeous. We will return. Special mention to SCOTTY at breakfast. Lovely man who made us feel so welcome.
