This was recommended to us as we were in Newcastle for a wedding - what lovely people and a really interesting hotel. So central for the Millennium Bridge, The Baltic and various other restaurants. The building was originally a Steam Packet Co building and the refurbishment is beautiful.

Really enjoyed Sunday lunch here, for £23 per person you get a soup course followed by unlimited visits to the market table which has fresh salmon, various meats, bread, salad etc. You then have your main course and desert. The only problem for me is that I couldn't eat it all which was a shame because the food was delicious.... More

Stayed here last weekend with my boyfriend as a birthday treat, he paid extra for an upgraded room around £120 I think and the room was amazing! Lovely views of the millennium and tyne bridge out of our window huge room with an amazing shower, bath tub and huge bed! As a little extra the staff had left a decorated... More

We stayed in the hotel overnight returning from Scotland. Good location, short walk onto the quayside, accessible to the town centre. Rooms were excellent also the menu for breakfast offered a great choice, difficult to choose as they all sounded good.

Stayed with my girlfriend on a special occasion and initially had intended to check in, have dinner at the restaurant and go into town before returning later at night. I checked in ahead of time so there wouldn't be any waiting around and the woman at the front desk was extremely helpful. She asked if I'd been before and upon... More

We've just booked in at the HdV Newcastle for a 2 night stay .. And already the stress levels are rising. The reason? Traffic noise. We have a De luxe double, ground floor, and the noise from the 1500 vehicles per hour passing by our window does not bode well for a restful night. There are no options to change... More

Dear Chi_reviews Many thanks for sharing your initial review from entering the room. We appreciate that, although a city hotel, many of our guests do require a tranquil room in which to... More

Situated a 10 / 15 minute stroll from the Millennium Bridge on the Quay side. We had a standard room and to be quite honest there was no need to consider upgrading as the room was excellent. Big enough, and nicely turned out, with everything you need from an expresso machine to a hair dryer. Great bathroom, with a good... More
