Stayed here for 3 days whilst exploring the north east of the country. Chose it because it was cheap, though we learnt that breakfast wasn't included in the price but it was so reasonable that we couldn't complain. Excellent first rate service by all staff, made us southerners feel right at home. Food was fabulous. Centrally located in the city...

Mu husband & I stayed here for 2 nights as I was taking part in the run. I booked it a year in advance as have been caught out in previous years by the price increase over this weekend at other hotels. On arrival we found the attached pub heaving but we managed to check in & were shown to...

We two (girlfriend and I) stayed here after a visit to Newcastle v Edinburgh speedway at nearby Brough Park (which turned into something like an episode of "Holby City", but that's a different story). At £40.50 for a compact & clean double room- breakfast extra- this was immense value. Yes, we did have a fry up and it was perfectly...

I visit the next door People's Theatre on a regular basis and always pop in Corner House before hand. This is a pub that needs serious investment. The men's toilet has lacked a toilet seat for months, the mirror in toilet has been taken down and not replaced and the toilet door is black from hand marks. That being said,...

The corner house hotel is a great place to stay if you're looking for a cheap place to stay near the city centre (about a 45 minute walk or a short bus ride). As the prices are cheap the rooms aren't huge but there is a decent breakfast, wifi and the pub downstairs serves food and drinks. The room wasn't...

It is a cheap night's stay. But this is reflected in the room. Yes it was small, more a large single than a double. That said it was clean and the bed was fine. There was no room for the proverbial cat to be swung, for the cost though it was fine. Beware of room 6. It is just above...

Totally restful and so convenient for the town, buses and fantastic walks in the park. We have been coming to the Corner House, from Spain, every year since 2009 and this hotel has most certainly improved since then. The food is excellent and the staff are more friendly. We had the English breakfst a couple of days and it was...

Family room excellent, double room very poor. We booked a family room for three girls, that room was excellent but the room for myself and my wife ( room 3) only had a 3/4 bed which made it uncomfortable.
