A lovely village pub, friendly and quiet. Location is nice with a large beer garden on the edge of a river. No other pubs in walking distance but the food is fresh and tasty, with generous portions. Rooms were a nice size and comfortable. Covid restrictions meant that the room wasn't cleaned during our stay (only 2 nights) but we knew that before we went. There were 2 issues with the hotel though. One was that the staff carved the bread for diners on a side table and to get to the rooms we had to walk through the crumbs on the floor. Also, despite the hotel having been in lockdown and closed for a few months, nobody had cleaned the door leading to the bedrooms. All it needed was a bit of Cif but it really let the place down. If these issues had been addressed, would have given a better score.…
We felt safe staying at this hotel, given the present environment. We found the hotel provided a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The drinks and meals were excellent qualit, being provided by local specialist suppliers. The room was clean and warm, with a comfortable bed. All in all, a very pleasant stay.
Food was average apart for the steak pie which was delicious and could have fed two. Burger was very mediocre Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff Dogs allowed in the bar which is great as some lovely walks
Lunch here today and as always very good food, I had herb roasted chicken dauphinoise potatos in cream and mushroom sauce and my husband had the steak pie and said it was the best he had tasted for a long time.all the food is home made and the staff are all friendly and attentive, everywhere is exceptionally clean, the ladies toilet a joy to behold, can recommend this pub to all of you out there.
We chose this restaurant as t was half way between the two sets of families. Very good place to eat. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was to much trouble. We all had the Sunday roast and it was very good indeed. All very well cooked and very tasty. We had puddings and coffee afterwards and they were equally as good. So thank you for a lovely time and good food.
