We had reservation for 21 people on a saturday lunchtime, and assembled for the birthday meal after a beautiful circular walk from the pub. We`d been surprised they accepted such a large group on a busy weekend, but they offered us a varied menu which we didn`t have to pre-book. Lovely room overlooking the river, really pleasant staff and positive...

This country pub is tucked away but well worth seeking out. Delicious food in a wonderful location. Opportunity to eat outside by the estuary. Probably better to book at weekends as it can get very busy. A surprise birthday lunch but we will return - definitely would recommend

Visited beginning of January on a cold windy day. I had last visited the pub some 20 years ago but fortunately sign posting has improved so found easily. Drive was worthwhile as had a beautiful walk along the river before returning to the pub. Sign at door mentioned it was very dog friendly and they were true to their word....

Our family group of 6 had lunch here after a 5 mile walk. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was quality - sea bass, open fish pie, lovely table by the window looking out onto the sunny river - £120 including tip for three courses - six very happy customers. Highly recommend.

Setting on river excellent. Food mediocre and poor value for money. Our party chose variety of meals and only one recommendation the fish cakes. All other meals poor and served luke warm. Should you wish to go to a pub with great view this is for you, but would not advise eating there.

This was the excuse given when we asked for an umbrella to be put up on our outside table on the hottest day in September. There was no Suffolk gale - just a very slight breeze from the river. So we went elsewhere and shan't bother to return to such an unfriendly pub

Attentive, friendly service, great atmosphere and lovely food together with a breathtaking view of the River Deben made The Ramsholt an ideal spot for our Sunday lunch. It's particularly worthwhile making the most of the surroundings from the outdoor seating area which is quite the sun trap thanks to the gastropub's south facing position. All five of us really enjoyed...

We booked a table for three by the window and got a table for three by the window! The cod and chips were delicious (the fish was very fresh) and the ham, egg and chips was very good. Nice thick piece of ham with two perfect eggs. Friendly service. Lovely view of the river. We'll be going again.

Stunning location friendly service. However you will pay for the view. Two open crayfish sandwiches and a couple of pints will cost you in excess of 20quid. However would return for the view. Service is friendly and it was busy.

Friendly welcome, we were remembered from visiting sister pub the Crown! Good choices for food, friendly service, tasty food. Facilities good, with a rustic pub feel. Lots of activity on the river to watch, lots of outside seating for warm days. Didn't stay, only came for a meal.
