We were looking forward to this stay as previously we had good service and food. Old English Inns have joined forces with a Brewery although are accommodation was excellent, We ret to state the menus were poor, standard Pub type. Our first night a number of items were off due to a busy weekend and their deliveries did not arrive... More

We stayed two nights at the Bull thinking that Old English Inns would be pretty good as we had never visited one of their establishments before (and probably won't again)Our room was relatively spacious and overlooked the car park and the fire escape was a useful way of getting the luggage in, although you had to step over the old... We had pre-booked for a small family meal of 9 people and when we were ordering our drinks we asked whether we order at the bar, we were told that she would come and take our order at the table, after about 10 minutes this is what happened, so far so good. Anyway our food order turned up and in... More

As staying reasonably close chose the Bull for an evening meal. Specials menu was quite attractive so tried the steak & chips for £6.50. Very tasty tender steak and plenty of nice chips for a very reasonable cost. Would definitely go back if in the area again

Ordered platter which turned out to be a couple of slices of stale bread, salami and olives. Where were the mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and houmous stated on the menu? Unfortunately so short staffed there was nobody to ask. 3 out of 4 of us had poor meals.

Stayed here as we had a wedding in the local area. The Bull dates from 1450 and has all the period features you would expect: huge inglenook fireplaces and low beamed ceilings dominate the property giving a cosy, lived in feel. The rooms themselves are a decent size but like most of the property are in need of some TLC.... More

Stayed one night as part of a party celebration. Nice hotel with lots of quaintness and history. Room large but noisy aircon outside. Buffet served ok if you like sandwiches and breakfast limited in selection and portions. Has a nice beer garden and the downstairs rooms are really impressive.

Brief visit for a business meeting. Charming and quaint place, very old building with lots of original features. good location on the Main Street through long melford. Easy to park. Coffee and cake good. Service a bit slow. Nice shops on the doorstep.

We booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary as we had stayed here many years ago and had fond memories of it. On arrival, we were shown to room number four, which is located above the bar in the front of the hotel. We were initially quite pleased with our room, it was very quaint and had a large bathroom...
