Very good all round ,staff very attentive ,but not irritatingly so Clean every where decor a little dull but one must remember over 600 years old so will be uneven floors and rather interesting features ,the "wardrobe" in our room was like a small dressing room many characteristics Also the temperature was good not over bearing as it often is... It looks like a pub and you can have a drink there but it isn't. It's really a friend's sitting room with a select few friends where you can ask for food and drink without waiting for the host to ask you. Comfortable leather chesterfield sofas with a huge open log fire. We ate there twice from the specials board... More

We stayed in this tired pub for four days.Rooms are satisfactory ,however windows stairs and overall fitments are in a poor state. The gentleman that puts all the bottles in the metal canister and rolls around beer barrels around 7am is really not popular. Fresh fruit and excellent overall menu makes breakfast the highlight.Dinner is OK but menu limited. Value... More

My family stayed here and the accommodation was just amazing, warm and clean. we had dinner here one night, lunch the next day and a Sunday Roast before we all travelled home, all absolutely perfect. There is seating out at the front to sit and have a drink watch the world go by.

The hotel was easy to find but the parking was a little haphazard. When all the visitors had left then there were spaces. Pity the hotel did not have their own car park. The room was okay, very clean and the shower en suite adequate. They were obviously not expecting us to have brought many clothes with us as there... More

This place has all the makings of a lovely pub/restaurant. Lavenham is a wonderful place to visit and if you manage to get a table outside in the square you could while away the hours simply by being wow'd by Lavenham's beauty. However, although it's a massive improvement from Marco Pierre White's pretentious nonsense, The Angel seems to be a... More

After walk around this gem of an English village fancied a quiet lunch on a Saturday. Friendly laid back surroundings -great food and pleasant experience could have stayed longer. Definitely recommended and food/drink offers on various days of week.. Note this village has free parking overall !!

This is a hotel in an absolutely beautiful small town with dozens of character buildings. On entering the hotel it was dark and dismal and felt unloved. The rooms we had reason to enter were not over clean, our bedroom had many cobwebs which had obviously been there for a considerable period of time, not just on the high ceilings... More

Was so looking forward to staying here. Wonderful location, quirky bar area, obviously popular restaurant, but..... No reception area, jostling with the drinkers at the bar to book in whilst hanging onto cases is not fun. Then led out the back, tripping over vacuum cleaners, up to our rooms. Dusty, dirty frayed carpets in the corridor. A feeling of an... More
