Just had 4 nights at The Bushel. Very nice place, room 9 was great, plenty of space and clean. Walk in shower was the best. Pub is near the town centre but quiet and peaceful. Good beers and food. Breakfast was good, friendly staff. Cora was very nice lady. Bury St Edmunds is a very nice town, felt safe walking... More

Nice hotel - lovely and clean - comfortable with all the bits and pieces you'd expect - i thin it's being refurbished - the only criticism I had was that there were no bedside reading lamps so I had to have the massive light on to read in bed - not the biggest problem just a little niggle the restaurant... Miles from the coast we had the most delicious fish and chips at the Bushel. The batter was crispy and wasn't dripping in grease, the chips were chunky and fluffy and the mushy peas cooked with mint were the best I've ever had. Oh yes... wonderful, friendly service too.

The bushel is a very nice restaurant. My personal favourite meal there is the lasagne! They also sell burgers, curry and salads and loads more yummy meals. Their hotel upstairs isn't the best for long periods but will do for a day or two. They have tasty drinks as well.

The room was on the edge of the car park which left a bit to be desired The staff were great, the food OK, reasonable choice of beer. Good location as close to town centre and many resturants and bars

Searched the Internet and found this hidden gem. Cannot recommend this place enough. Location is brilliant, step outside and you literally are 'there'. We stayed in one of the 3 rooms at the back, like converted out-buildings...lovely. General manager and his staff were all fantastic and we can't wait to go back.

Fab rooms, great modern style, clean and tidy, nice double bed, great tv the bathroom was clean and had a lovely double shower tray, there is free on site parking and the food on site is great, it is a pub, but that is fine with me, just what I needed after a long day, staff are friendly and helpful... My Wife and I stayed here on 30th & 31st July 2016. Our relatives also stayed in the room next door. This place is slap bang in the middle of the Beautiful Town. Just a 5 minute walk to the Train Station, and a 2 minute walk to the Bus station. The town square is also 3 minutes walk away.... More
