Excellent hotel experience, all of our trip members - young and old - were satisfied. Service well above the 3* hotel...Although our beach view room was bigger and much nicer than the other room with no view. Croissants were extra flaky and breakfast staff was very attentive and kind. We felt very welcome. Not cheap though...

Stayed for one night and booked dinner in the restaurant , could not fault the standard of service and the delicious food , finished off with a double First Rate gin and tonic from Adnams which really rounded off the evening! Slept like a log in the very large and comfortable bed !

Reasonable hotel but charging top money. Tv in the room still the old fashioned type so half the picture can't be seen, very annoying. No air conditioning, weak wifi so not good value for money. Staff friendly and helpful and well positioned in the town so no need for a car.

It's well worth paying a bit extra for a view of Aldeburgh's famous seascape, pebbled beach and fishermen's huts, but we were disappointed by the decor of our room and the first floor corridors - far too many busy fabric designs and hideous modern wardrobe and dressing-table - badly needs a make-over with plain carpets and a more traditional style.... We made a quick visit to Suffolk, which included a Friday night stay at the White Lion. We had a nice room with a sea view, comfortable bed and good shower. The town was very quaint and lovely to visit. For us, the best part of the hotel was the food- the best fish pie we have ever eaten. We... More

Visited for the carnival weekend again as we did last year. Lovely comfortable sea view room, everything you need in the room. Tea,coffee etc. Our TV worked fine but didn't really use it except for the news. Food was really enjoyable, in fact I think better than last year. Breakfast is served ,which I much prefer to self service style... More

Best thing was the location as the view was right over the sea and a short stroll into the centre. Parking was a nightmare but we eventually managed a (tight) space in the hotel car park. Room a bit on the small side and the shower was laughable as hardly any force. The staff were friendly on the whole but... More

Never let us down for the most wonderful Sunday lunch. Family with young grandchildren all catered for superbly. Love it. Staff extremely helpful, resident pianist adding to the already wonderful ambience of this seaside hotel, restaurant and bar. Love it. X

My wife and I spent a mini-break at this hotel. The room was a little on the small side, but when you book late you can't expect everything. It was fine, clean, and the king-size bed was very comfortable. The facilities were good, wifi worked fine, though the TV distribution system needs to be updated - why have flat screen... More

Welcome and check was efficient Room clean with large and comfy bed Shower disappointing but obviously a problem with the buildings age Room service poor as wouldn't actually bring food that was clearly on the menu for room service Expensive treat so no real complaints but could have been better - location is always going to be a winner
