Fabulous night. Fine dining at its best. It was unexpected to be honest. We were being taken out to diner by my daughter but as we were new to the area finding somewhere gluten free was difficult. We chanced upon the swan and what a fantastic meal it was. There is something to please everyone. A good choice of starters,...

I consider myself a bit of an expert and The Swan serves one the very best ploughman's lunch that I have ever eaten in England ! It contained all the traditional stuff : Scotch Egg with a soft centre, very tasty Sausage Roll, excellent chunk of Cheddar Cheese, a generous amount of fresh off-the-bone Ham, a very tasty pot of...

We decided to visit the Swan Hotel for a spot of breakfast. Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff who were polite and made us feel very welcome. We ordered full English with unlimited tea or coffee, and it was made clear to us that we may have to wait approximately 20 to 30 minutes as they were...

Ideally placed for an overnight stay after our visit to the Gatehouse Theatre. Meals were good, the staff were friendly and the selection of bars gave the hotel a good atmosphere. Even enjoyed waking to the sound of the church bells on Sunday morning which sounded very close.

This is an old coaching inn with creaky floors and sloping floors to prove it. The staff are lovely and can't do enough for you. However, I did find myself often waiting around at the entrance to the brasserie as staff were elsewhere. There is a lift. Parking is via a pedestrianised area at the back; you need a permit...

This 300 year old hotel (once a stopping place for stage coaches) has great character and is situated in the centre of Stafford. My friends and I arrived after a long and tiring journey and, on receiving the rooms keys, we were told we could not eat in the hotel, as we had not booked a table, by email, in...

Thank you for your recent review. We do send a confirmation email to all our residents on booking which does have a paragraph advising them that tables need to be booked in our brasserie for dinner in advance. I am sorry if you missed this information. I have noted your comments regarding the standard of food and the slow service...

Had an amazing meal last week on steak night. The steaks and food were beautifully presented and the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Upon arrival, we had a quick few drinks in the bar before our meals where we were warmly accommodated for by every member of staff. A young man in a white shirt was lovely and made...
