This was the first time we had been here for a celebration party. The service was excellent , staff were very polite and attentive. The food was delicious and well presented . Our party was around a 100 people and the hot buffet was served quickly. The beautiful building and architecture made it all that more special. Having access to...

Stayed here for two nights to celebrate anniversary. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel had upgraded us from deluxe king to executive king with view over the garden and pond. We had the five course tasting menu for our meal in the hotel, only because we thought the choice on the a la carte was not...

We have been eating in the restaurant at Swinfen Hall three or four times a year for the last three years and the quality of the food keeps improving. The menu is interesting and relatively ambitious (very ambitious for Staffordshire) and the restaurant deserves its AA accolades. The home made Guinness bread is an excellent crowd-pleaser (although the German butter...

Stayed 1 night in classic double overlooking front drive. Superb and impressive building with immaculate grounds. Cannot fault the staff, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. A la carte in Four Seasons is a taste sensation, Guiness bread outstanding as was all the meal. Yes there was a wedding going on but managed well with lounge reserved for guests and did not...

A stunning building with much old world ambience. The staff, especially Dominic, were attentive and efficient. This tea treat was a gift from friends and competes with a number of hotels in the area offering similar. To be constructive the tea sandwiches were a little disappointing. Sour dough bread is not to everyone's taste and the selection was overall bland...

Had an overnight stay with 3 course evening meal and breakfast. This was a Christmas gift to us off our son and his girlfriend. Really enjoyed our stay and it was not just the very tasty food and beautiful room and surroundings, the staff are so very friendly and all so very pleasant. We stayed in a gallery room, the...

I stayed here with colleagues & customers, as we were hosting a private dinner event here. The service here is first class, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious, with a beautiful view of the hotel grounds. Excellent breakfast too.

We arrived early and appreciated being able to get into the room almost two hours before the official check-in time. Our room was at the front of the hotel, which had a lovely view overlooking the beautiful countryside. We liked the hotel's willingness to supply fresh milk (as opposed to UHT) to drink with tea/coffee in one's room. Our toilet...

Dear Lawrence M Thank you for the review you posted following your recent overnight stay with dinner. I am glad we could accommodate your early arrival. We will certainly always try and do this where possible. I apologise for the issue with the toilet seat. This should have been picked up prior to your arrival but we will get it...

Attended a wedding at Swinfen. Food was tasty and service was excellent, with wine topped up regularly. Tables well set and plenty of space for the wedding party including quieter rooms if the evening disco was not quite to your taste! Bedrooms are traditional, ours was spacious (204) on second floor facing the front, with everything you needed (except for...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Swinfen Hall Hotel is a beautiful Georgian manor house set in 100 acres of parkland incorporating formal gardens, a private deer park, wild hay meadows and woodland. Although the hotel has been described as 'an architectural gem' and is blessed with a wealth of historic features, we also embrace the creature comforts of the here and now. Flatscreen TVs, DVD players, IPOD docking stations and free wi-fi are standard in all our bedrooms alongside bathrobes, mineral water, a good selection of guest amenities and a well-stocked hospitality tray. In addition to our AA 2-rosette Four Seasons restaurant which is open for lunch and dinner, we have a Bar and Terrace menu for light snacks and offer a delicious traditional Afternoon Tea. We also have a magnificent oak-paneled Edwardian ballroom with a raised stage and fully-sprung dance floor, which is a wonderful venue for wedding receptions, presentations and private parties. We are proud to be an AA Inspectors Choice Red Star hotel - come and visit us and see what this means. Our little oasis of peace and calm lies on the A38, two miles south of the historic city of Lichfield, ½ a mile from the M6 toll road and only 20 minutes from the heart of Birmingham. ... more   less
