We booked 3 nights at The Swan in Wells to celebrate an anniversary. Did not realise when booking that we would be sleeping in the Coach House which is a short walk at the back of the hotel. Accommodation was very tired and dated but clean. We were not too bothered about the room as we only slept in it....

Very helpful staff in hotel and restaurant; warm and well furnished room. Restaurant food acceptable and staff very keen to oblige our various dietary requests. Beautifully situated with views to Cathedral. Large car park. Excellent for a short break.

I stay here for 5 night because of business in the neighbourhood.I must say a really comfortable hotel. Homely atmosphere, a lounge with a fire stove which make the wine even taste better. Enjoy the restaurant with a good quality dinner. the room was small but had all the needs. wifi works okay, parking for free. If business needed me...

Many thanks again to Mark and all of his team. We regularly visit "The Swan" every year sure of excellent quality throughout all aspects of their service. Room 48 is excellent with its own lounge and views across Wells roofs and to the countryside beyond. All of the people who give this service are keen to help and nothing seems...

Arrived around 4.30pm and was a little fearful of the tight entrances into the car park although this was all ok as one of the very helpful reception staff helped me see the way through. Stayed in room 20, four poster very comfortable bed. Breakfast second to none with great quality produce. Staff all polite and friendly - plus a...

Friendly staff Great breakfast On site parking Large bedroom Negatives: our room in the Coach house was cold and the radiator needed bleeding. There is a big step to get out of the shower/ bath which could be a...

Stopped at the Swan Hotel while visiting Wells with friends on New Year's Day. We had atrocious weather all morning, which made this even more of a perfect haven to warm back up and have lunch. We arrived a little too early to eat, but the hospitable, charming staff invited us to sit in their cosy lobby area where we...

If I could give this hotel 6 stars I would. The New Year's Eve dinner and dance last night was brilliant, from the champagne and home made canapes as starters to the 5 course meal served after. Food very well cooked, wines reasonable and the staff were ALL friendly, pleasant and absolutely lovely, all worked so hard to make the...
