Stephanie and Steve made us very welcome and provided us with two wonderfully designed rooms overlooking their well designed and colourful garden. The balcony gave us a most pleasant setting to have tea/coffee with our friends who were in the next room. The view overlooking the green manicured lawn and garden made this choice of B&B a real surprise and... More

The biggest plus for me was having a room with use of a balcony - you could see the Mendips in the distance . The room , bathroom , amenities , breakfast etc were adequate and its only about 8 - 10 minutes walk to the town centre so this is a good base for exploring .

Our hosts were very friendly and provided a reasonable breakfast, but the rooms need updating and some attention to detail. Ours was room 2, which has a lovely balcony with views to St. Cuthbert's Church. However, the single bed was not that comfortable and the room is cramped, with double and single beds and two chairs squeezed in. The small... More

Hello Tim, Thank you for your review and comments. We are of course disappointed that you and your mother did not fully enjoy your stay at Highfield and did not give us the opportunity to rectify your criticisms and make your stay more comfortable. You claim that the rooms need updating you have only seen The Daffodil room and dining... More

Close enough to city center to walk to points of interest, far enough from city center to be quiet, comfortable room, hearty breakfast, reasonable price, beautiful private garden in rear, and the owners were very friendly and helpful, even when our bus was delayed three hours and we didn't get there til midnight.

Highfield is a lovely B&B! Our room and ensuite was bright and clean, and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. We were lucky enough to have a room with a little outdoor terrace that overlooked the pretty garden (and beyond). There was lots on offer at breakfast time, and being non meat eaters was not an issue... More

It was supposed to be a camping weekend away but we had to B&B it in the end as there were storms on the way and I don't think our tent would have survived - thankfully Stephanie was able to put us up at the last minute! We were warmly rescued and greeted at the door and shown to a... More

Lovely clean and tidy bedroom and ensuite bathroom. We had a terrace overlooking a pleasing garden where we were able to enjoy the afternoon sun with a pot of tea. There are lots of lovely Victorian features in the breakfast room which also looks onto the garden.

Steve and Steph went out of their way to give us a comfortable stay. We don't like sharing a breakfast table so our meal time was tailored to our being on our own. We were also offered breakfast in our room. My husband wanted another pillow and he was offered a choice of filling. We were also given fresh milk in... More

A great three night stay in Wells. Steve was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The room was lovely with a balcony and view out over the beautiful garden. HIghfield is what a B&B should be--spotless, comfortably furnished, with owners who clearly enjoy their work. The breakfast room is lovely with a view to the garden (and Toby the tortoise) and the fresh fruit cup with luscious strawberries was a very welcome way to start breakfast. Steve's restaurant advice was very good as well. Wells is such a pretty... More
