It is a wonderful house and the rooms are in proper style. The breakfast is very healthy and they have delicious organic local products. He is a very kind, multi lingual and an intelligent conversational partner. His wife is an impressive, adorable lady with consolidated knowledge about the most important places to see. Last but not least, the cat is... More

I especially appreciated the green and organic awareness that pervades the hosts' care of guests and their own lives. The garden was absolutely lovely, and home-baked loaves and eggs from their own hens tasted better than usual. Staying here enhanced the quality of the time I spent in Glastonbury.

We spent three days of the Easter weekend here. Chris and Beth, the owners and hosts, were simply lovely to spend time with. The room was bright and clean, the garden beautiful and peaceful. One of the nicest features is the reading room, which was next to our room: a wonderful place to sit and ponder - or do what... More

We stayed at the Shoe in the Wall for the Glastonbury Carnival this year-if you've never been you don't know what you're missing. Hosts Chris and Beth go out of their way to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. The rooms are spotless, their attentiveness is exactly right-neither too intrusive nor too distant. Breakfast is a real treat-try some of... More

My daughter had an SAT exam just down the road. We drove almost 3 hours to the B&B. It was almost 9 in the evening and raining.... We called to confirm directions minutes before we arrived. Much to our surprise, the owner was waiting for us in the parking lot with an umbrella to help us across the street. That... More

We were "rescued" by an availability at the Shoe in the Wall, when all else was booked barring the Travelodge. It was a bit further away from the high street than we'd hoped, as we were attending an evening event at the Town Hall, however the walk was a relatively painless 10-15 minute stroll. It was lovely to be so... More

I couldn't have asked for more. The room was clean, bright and beautiful. The breakfasts were amazing - home baked breads, homemade fruit purees, homemade jam and marmalade and so much more. And afternoon tea/coffee and fresh baked goods in the afternoon. The owners are amazing - so warm, welcoming, friendly and attentive. They truly made the stay one that... More

I have stayed here on several occassions and I continue to be delighted by the warm welcome, the beautiful room and view, and all the seemingly effortless attention to detail. Chris and Beth are the perfect hosts for your stay, and make sure there is everything you need to relax and feel at home. The breakfast is a wonderful smorgasboard... More
