A proper pub. Lovely staff and atmosphere. Stayed for 3 nights while visiting a friend. The landlord, landlady and all staff and locals could not have been nicer and more welcoming- A home away from home- Makes all the difference. Thank you 😊 xx

This Dunster pub is just for the local regulars. If you're visiting Dunster and want a drink then use one of the other pubs as they dont want your money or custom and not interested in serving you. The L-shaped bar is almost impossible to get to as all the regular customers are blocking you on their stools, and if you are lucky enough to get anywhere near the bar then you will be ignored anyway, the conversations with the locals around the trip to Doncaster and the Sinusitis suffered by the relative being far more important. I thought I'd cracked it on my fourth attempt though - I was next and my patience had paid off - the locals all had fresh drinks and the conversations had lulled and I managed to catch her eye, but it wasn't to be. She had important business elsewhere, maybe down in the cellar or somewhere so I gave up.

This is a special pub, a real find and we hope to return to it (perhaps to stay). The owner (I assume!) was a lovely gentleman, full of good advice about the local area. He was very kind to my daughter and I. The food served was piping hot, plentiful and extremely tasty! I recommend the burger especially, with proper chips too. A really friendly welcoming atmosphere, and care has been made to enhance the experience with the decor and a beautiful fireplaces. I recommend visiting here for a real experience of a good quality friendly British pub.

This really is an excellent pub. A welcoming atmosphere, log burner, perfect landlord, proper very good value pub food and a wide range of drinks including local Ales. We cant recommend it highly enough, if you live in the area or if you are holiday nearby like us. Pop along and enjoy your evening. Dogs and Children are very welcome, pool table, Juke box and a Parrot!

Stayed earlier this year and thought i had already written a review on this place . Im due back for New Year so will be sure to be frequenting this pub again for food and drinks . Colin and Pat and the staff are very welcoming , the beer is kept good and in comparison to other pubs in the village , This is where you will find the locals and just good food and company , it is dog friendly and if you do stay here the rooms are comfortable and clean . It is a great base for exploring the area
