What a great little hotel we had such a happy couple of days here and what a cute little village , everything in the hotel ticks the right boxes in that old world sort of way , sometimes trying to make things to modern just doesn't work and the owners here have thankfully realised this . Well worth a visit... More

After a long (and getting lost) walk we decided to try the Castle as a dining option & we weren't disappointed. Our tired dog was very welcome & the choice of local ale & cider on tap were good. The new menu was to an excellent standard & choice. The catch of the day was cooked beautifully as well as... More

Stayed here for the weekend with 8 others, hotel was lovely and served fantastic breakfasts. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure we had a good stay. The room was very nicely decorated and a good size. Dunster is one of the prettiest villages I have ever visited with so much character. Will most definitely... More

The owners only took this property over a few weeks ago so the hotel is a work in progress. We were in the stables room which I didn't find particularly pleasant as it felt a bit like staying in a fish bowl but would be ideal if you had dogs as it had it's own front door There were a... More

Hi mrsr09031983. Thank you for taking your time to review the hotel. It's such a shame you didn't feel the room was particularly pleasant. It's our favourite of all the rooms, but we understand that people have different tastes. It's a shame you didn't eat at our restaurant, as our new chefs are really creating a buzz amongst the foodies... More

*** A perfect slice of paradise *** I stayed here, with a friend, the night before heading to Glastonbury festival. Our plan was to avoid the horrendous queues you hear about, which ironically we didn't. But every cloud has a silver! We found this place!!!! AND WHAT A TREAT IT IS!!!! JUST WHAT WE NEEDED BEFORE THE MUDFEST!!! The hotel... More

We spent a fabulous couple of nights at the Dunster Castle Hotel. John and his wife (the proprietors) could not have been more welcoming and hospitable, despite being in the middle of a complete refurb of the hotel before their big launch on 1st July 2016, Our room was spotless, the bed extremely comfortable, and the whole atmosphere of the... I stayed here alone as I was competing in the Ironman 70.3 race at Wimbleball. The hotel is bright and the rooms very light , bright and comfortable. The couple who own it are hospitable and welcoming. The room was newly refurbished, very nicely done. It was a bit too light as the Roman blinds didn't fit closely. There was... More

Just spent three nights at the hotel under its new ownership. Lovely location and they are working hard on bringing the property up to scratch but above all a great team who couldn't have tried harder to make our stay pretty much perfect. Thanks Lisa, John and all the team
