Beautiful hotel, had a lovely stay - can’t fault it at all. Special mention for Nicola and Miguel- outstanding members of the team! Thank you for looking after us. Spa was lovely but I would say it’s not great as hotel guest to be restricted to such specific times, especially so early and late in the day.
A luxurious hotel in located in the heart of historic Bath. Beautiful architecture with classic stylish rooms. A warm welcome on arrival and efficient friendly service throughout our stay. The hotel spa is fabulous and is very relaxing and on experiencing quickly forms a daily habit. The bar has a great selection of gins amongst other drinks and the service is excellent. Breakfast is on the expensive side, but it does include a wide selection of produce. Looking forward another visit. A great hotel in one of my favourite places.
We booked the Bath Spa hotel for a weekend break. It was a special occasion, so selected somewhere in the city centre that lacked for nothing. We booked the Bath Spa suite which included breakfast, unlimited spa access, complementary minibar and little touches like a complementary bottle of wine, cheese and biscuits and quality toiletries. The suite was very spacious with a fabulous bathroom and exceptional Queen-size bed. Be aware that access to the Bath Spa suite is via steep stairs and there is no lift (as noted on the hotel website). There are city views on two aspects. The suite is very convenient (and private) for the the spa facilities. Light sleepers should be aware that there is significant noise from city revellers on this side of the hotel (the building is listed, so single glazed). The spa is excellent - highly recommended. Breakfast is very varied and of high quality, with excellent ambiance and service. There was no lunch / dinner service when we visited. Visitors should be aware that car access to the hotel is very limited with no on-site parking. We were recommended to use a public car park (SouthGate) at £16 day. It’s approx 5 minutes walk to the car park, which is opposite thetrain station (rail is better option,in our opinion). The public car park is busy, hard to find and difficult to exit. We booked directly with the hotel. The room rate was £700 / night bed and breakfast.…
Great Hotel and service was 100% perfect. Staff super friendly and engaging. Room we stayed in could have been 'aired' prior to arrival as it was a bit musty but other than that i cant complain. the whole experience was really cute.
Location fabulous, extremely central to everything. The customer service was extremely good - staff were really helpful and friendly. We updated to a suite. This was more 3 star than 5. The bed was uncomfortable, the bathroom felt less than clean and the bath was chipped near the plug - not what we were expecting. Quite disappointed they didn't do room service and you had to book a Breakfast slot. Would we go back? Yes it was central and the service was good but we probably should of made more fuss about the room
Everything about our 2 night stay was fantastic. Our room was gorgeous and large with incredible views over the city. Our two day massage and Spa experience were nothing short of amazing... a special thank you to Winnie at the Spa who provided me with one of the best massages I've ever had. She was beyond wonderful. Our daily breakfasts were delicious and the staff there provided excellent service and smiles both mornings. It was a great way to start the day. In fact, the entire team at the Gainsborough were thoughtful, personable and beyond professional. Thank you. We look forward to coming back to this 5-star hotel!
We had an amazing stay here! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, answering any questions we had. It was our anniversary and they were kind enough to upgrade us and give us a bottle of wine. A lovely gesture. The room was beautiful with four windows looking out onto the streets of Bath. It was very clean, and the turn down service at night is a lovely touch. The spa is great. We went during the allocated hours (8-10am and 7-9pm). It was never too busy and the spa staff were also very friendly. The free hot chocolate is a nice touch! We didn’t have breakfast as there are so many cafes and restaurants nearby. And the restaurant is also closed for lunch and dinner. The location couldn’t be better. The perfect spot for the city centre and anything you could want. Highly recommended!…
+ Excellent location. Super service. Great breakfast. - Noise late into night, lack of parking and Spa. The Spa was underwhelming. It didn't feel luxurious, exclusive or particularly special. If you are thinking of a spa break, much better options available at about same cost. Certainly not worth paying extra for use in the day time. If you want a historical break, totally go for it.
I always enjoy time spent in Bath and when I managed to get a bargain price on a Tom in this hotel……… we’ll I booked without thinking. Amazing building, fantastic facilities, excellent fresh breakfast, it’s all there in buckets. As hotel guests you have certain times you’re allowed to use the spa and we did , it was busy though…… Wouldn’t be able to stay here at full price, but enjoyed our bargain night. Outside you have the shops, cafes and historic Bath to wander round.
Perfect weekend stay in the centre of Bath! The actual spa is big and has all the amenities you wish for. We loved the hot chocolate! The room was beautiful and although our heating didn't work the problem was attended and solved immediately. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you plan a romantic getaway to Bath.
