Lovely owners who were very helpful and well informed of the area, extremely well kept bed and breakfast with beautiful rooms and fantastic biscuits! A brilliant breakfast with plenty of toast. Only issue was parking but I guess that's just Bath in general. Big thumbs up for this b and b

This was our 4th stay with Harry, Douglas and Jasper. Our Regency Party of friends were given a lovely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We were returning for the Jane Austen festival and all arrived with numerous costumes and hat boxes. Harry chilled our champagne and had everything ready for our pre dinner drinks. The hospitality is outstanding... More

The owners, Douglas and Harry, couldn't have been warmer or more helpful. The rooms were impeccable. Well thought out. Quite large. Very comfortable bed. The breakfasts were great. In Addition to all the fruits, yogurts and cold dishes you had a choice of full English breakfast or another option( smoked salmon one day) There was a real attention to details all... More

After more than a year, I still remember one of my best stays in the UK. Everything was beyond perfect and I felt like I was between relatives. Forget the step hill, because after your arrival, it will worth it: it is a beautiful house, the views are amazing (and I had the moonlight over my face during my sleep!),... More

Lovely location with easy access to the town. Gorgeous uber clean room with bathroom and every need catered for (kettle, tea, milk, water biscuits,TV, fan.......). Delicious breakfast whilst chatting with other guests around a large dining table which was very interesting to meet other visitors to the area and swap details of things to do in Bath. Excellent hosts who... More

We stayed here 2 nights in a double room on the top floor with a good view across to the surrounding hills. The house is beautifully decorated and the room was very clean and comfortable with a large shower room. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, leaving fresh milk for tea/coffee outside the room when needed. We were offered... More

We went for a two night weekend break with two friends from another part of the country, we had not been to bath before. We were given a royal welcome even though we were too early. Our luggage was taken away and we were issued parking permits and shown where to park. It was great. We stayed in room 4... More

My friend and I stayed 2 nights in Room 4 (two twins) and it was amazing! Harry and Douglas were so welcoming and provided everything we could have possibly wanted during our stay. The room was spacious and comfortable with large windows allowing beautiful natural light. The fresh cooked breakfast was delicious and served in the exquisitely set dining room.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to our home! Hill House was built in 1765 at the end of a Georgian terrace behind the Assembly rooms in Central Bath. Built originally as a hotel it later became a wine merchants and then a pub. The current owners purchased the property in 2011 and have updated the property throughout. The modernisation has been sympathetically undertaken to retain as much of the period of charm of the property as possible. The property now has six en suite letting rooms located one at the front and one at the back on each of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of the property. All bedrooms are equipped with newly appointed shower rooms, 32” digital Televisions, hairdryers and free wifi. The more the stairs the better the views from the rooms across Bath to the countryside beyond!Breakfast is served in our dining room on one large table, where reccomendations of what to see and where to eat are shared. Besides a choice of cereals etc we also offer a choice of two cooked breakfasts per day which vary throughout the week. We are able to cater for most dietary requirements but ask for as much notice as possible as we do not carry some items as stock as we are only a small establishment. This is our home and we want you to be able to relax in it. We have ironing facilities and a house sewing kit to hand. If you need anything else please ask and we will see what we can do.Hill House is a 2 minute walk from the Assembly Rooms and five minutes from the main shopping centre and Royal Crescent. There are plenty of local places to eat and drink close by and we would be happy to give recommendations upon request. On street Parking permits are available but will need to be reserved. ... more   less
