Myself and my friend came down for New Year. The moment we walked in we were wishing we had booked a longer stay. We were greeted with a warm and happy welcome, shown places to go and points of interest, our room was beautiful, breakfast generous and tasty and the hosts were wonderful. Will definitely be returning in the future.

We have just gotten back from the most lovely stay at Hill House after celebrating New Year in Bath. From start to finish it was a delight. The owners were wonderful, taking time to point out places of interest and potential places to go for NYE. The guesthouse itself is stunning and beautifully decorated. At first being somewhat antisocial we...

Stayed here for two nights with my wife, and I don't think it'll be only visit we make. The building is beautiful with a great history, the bedroom was immaculate with a comfy large bed and the breakfast was incredible. Each morning they do a special along side the full English option and one morning I had avocado, crispy bacon...

If it isn't it is certainly up there! We have had a lovely weekend here visiting the Christmas markets and arrived at Hill House on our second visit to the establishment. The welcome is warm, the decor is beautiful and the location is excellent! I would say that nothing is too much trouble - but it is better - nothing...

This has to be one of the very best places to stay in Bath. Our second visit and just as impressed second time round. The rooms are distinctive, luxurious and comfortable. Some lovely little touches like the bottle of water and fresh milk in a flask left daily. The breakfast is amazing And plentiful with daily special also on offer....

From my initial contact with Harry I knew this was going to be a very special place. Harry could not have been a better host. On arriving, Harry gave us a really warm welcome and chatted about what we were planning to do and see. He then highlighted on a City map places of interest for us. His recommendations were...

We loved everything about our 2-night stay at Hill House. It's less than a 10 minute walk from the town centre and pretty much everything there we wanted to visit. The hosts were both lovely, you felt nothing would have been too much trouble, Harry gave us some good tips on our day out in Bristol while Douglas cooked us...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to our home! Hill House was built in 1765 at the end of a Georgian terrace behind the Assembly rooms in Central Bath. Built originally as a hotel it later became a wine merchants and then a pub. The current owners purchased the property in 2011 and have updated the property throughout. The modernisation has been sympathetically undertaken to retain as much of the period of charm of the property as possible. The property now has six en suite letting rooms located one at the front and one at the back on each of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of the property. All bedrooms are equipped with newly appointed shower rooms, 32” digital Televisions, hairdryers and free wifi. The more the stairs the better the views from the rooms across Bath to the countryside beyond!Breakfast is served in our dining room on one large table, where reccomendations of what to see and where to eat are shared. Besides a choice of cereals etc we also offer a choice of two cooked breakfasts per day which vary throughout the week. We are able to cater for most dietary requirements but ask for as much notice as possible as we do not carry some items as stock as we are only a small establishment. This is our home and we want you to be able to relax in it. We have ironing facilities and a house sewing kit to hand. If you need anything else please ask and we will see what we can do.Hill House is a 2 minute walk from the Assembly Rooms and five minutes from the main shopping centre and Royal Crescent. There are plenty of local places to eat and drink close by and we would be happy to give recommendations upon request. On street Parking permits are available but will need to be reserved. ... more   less
