Nestled within four acres of mature award-winning gardens and spacious terraces, The Bath Priory sets itself apart as a peaceful haven in a bustling city. The Georgian house of honey-coloured Bath stone enjoys a tranquil location just a short walk through Royal Victoria Park to Bath’s city centre. The award-winning spa has a selection of luxurious treatments, an indoor pool, pool-side sauna, elliptical steam pod and shower. From the moment you enter The Garden Spa by L’OCCITANE, fragrances transport you to Provence; the escape begins with scent. Every gesture, every ingredient, every ritual is drawn from a page of the L’OCCITANE grand herbarium, a resource of hundreds of essential oils and natural ingredients. Steeped in Roman history, the city of Bath is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Roman Baths, Pump Rooms and Theatre Royal are noteworthy highlights alongside the city’s architectural merits including the Royal Crescent and The Circus.

The Bath Priory hotel emerges as a tranquil retreat with its inviting, elegant atmosphere and immaculate cleanliness that guests consistently applaud. While the service is often described as exceptional, with staff providing attentive and professional care, there have been occasional reports of inconsistencies. The hotel's location garners praise for its convenience to local attractions, and the grounds are admired for their beauty. However, some travelers question the value, pointing to pricey drinks and spa services. Room comfort and decor receive high marks, despite a few maintenance concerns.

From the moment we arrived, until the moment we left, everything was 5 star. Every member of staff were exceptional, our room was superb and evening meal equally as good. Breakfast service and food also the same incredibly high standard - in fact my wife thinks it’s he best breakfast she’s ever had. The perfect stay!

Highly recommend this hotel for the location in Bath. Slightly out of town however an easy walking distance of 20 mins into the centre through the park and botanical gardens. The food and service at this hotel is excellent. Lovely for a special occasion. Rooms are very comfortable and the staff there are very welcoming, professional and helpful.

Such a great stay with Lucy dog in a beautiful room overlooking the garden. The room was near to an outside door which made it very convenient to take Lucy dog out without disturbing anyone either. Super comfy bed and lots of space.

The location of the hotel was good and being real foodies, we really enjoyed the quality of the food. Staff were extremely attentive and always on-hand to look after you. Lovely bedroom/bathroom. Spa was nice although disappointed to find the Steam Room was out of action. Treatments were lovely.

We have stayed here in the past (and at a number of the other Brownsword Hotels). It never fails to please and we stayed in a mid price range room. Check in was very good, our bags were taken to our room, and we were provided with afternoon tea and scones in one of the lounges. The room was spacious and overlooked the front of the hotel. Amenities in the room were good - the bed very comfy - with the only criticism being that the bathroom was beginning to show its age a bit. We dined at the hotel in the evening and the food was consistently very good, with an outstanding wine selection and smooth and friendly service. The grounds of the hotel are a delight (even in mid-winter) and the public rooms warm and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent with views across a frosty garden scene. Most staff referred to us by name which was a nice touch. Expensive but worth it.

My friend and I dined and stayed here in early February, and what a treat it was! The restaurant was elegant and serene, and the food on the a la carte menu was delicious. We got little tasty surprises in between our courses too. The chefs are masters at their craft, and the food was as beautiful to look at as it was to eat. Our server, Titania, was incredibly polite and attentive, with a fluent knowledge of everything she served. Our room was perfectly quiet and comfortable, and we enjoyed exploring the quirky downstairs rooms and the atmospheric grounds. If I’m being fussy, the hindrances are that the room was more modern-looking than we expected for such an old building, and the steam room was out of order in the spa. Other than that, our stay was exquisite - thank you!

If you are looking for a relaxing environment or to be pampered with spa treatments, this is the place for you. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff are unbelievably friendly and helpful, and they will go above and beyond and go the extra mile at the same time to do anything and everything you could ask or need. When I went to the hotel I had no idea it was such a high-quality place, all the food was cooked by chefs using locally sourced and only the highest quality ingredients, all the cocktails were made via top-shelf alcohol and fresh juice. The indoor pool was relaxing and so enjoyable, they fill the pool with mineral water so it does wonders for your skin. I will 100% recommend this hotel to everyone I come across in life, and this is now the only hotel I will stay in when I come to Bath!
