Our welcome was warm by Victoria who kindly gave us a map with important points of interest marked. Breakfast was lovely - we tried the rustic porridge which was just delicious. Serving staff were just delightful. Our room was cosy with a tiny ensuite. The bed needs replacing - mattress was very uncomfortable. Fittings have seen better days. With some... More

We stayed here for one night, while we visited Bath. We received a warm welcome and stayed in a self-contained double room with ensuite shower/bathroom. Free wifi, TV and all the essentials - tea/coffee, water, toiletries. Clean and comfy. We had a lovely breakfast, cereals and continental available, but we had a full English all cooked fresh to order. Would... More

nice location short walk down! the hill and you are into the centre of the city, suggest the bus back! there was a warm welcome when we arrived, our room was ready, spacious(to the rear so no outlook), with all you could wish for. A nice touch we were told when we came in on the evening to help ourselves... More

The location and staff are the real gems about this bed and breakfast. Only 5 or 10 minutes walk downhill and your right in the thick of it. The hill on the way back is a slight stretch but nothing that steep really. Staff very welcoming and took time to explain everything and even marked out on a map so... More

Very pleasant stay, the whole house and the room was clean and comfortable. I liked the small touches like offer of a night cap before bed and bottled water in the room. The only thing is that the house is up the hill, so we were taking busses to take us to there as we are lazy, but on the... More

I stayed here in July with my daughter. The staff were friendly and helpful. We requested a ground floor room, which was cool but a bit dark and very green in terms of decor. Breakfast was freshly cooked and good. There is a huge stop right outside that takes you into town, if you don't want to walk.

We stayed here on our recent trip to the UK. Good BnB, the room was comfortable, not too far from downtown Bath, the breakfast was good, they have parking if you're driving, it's in a decent area for the town.

This is the first time we have stayed here. We had the family room which was separate from the rest of the house. Very clean, bed comfy, nice shower and good size room overall. Breakfast was cooked to order and was lovely. Hosts very welcoming and knowlegable. Free parking on site as well. Only possible negative is that the hill... More

We arrived earlier than expected, but still received a friendly welcome. We were very kindly allowed to leave our car in the car park, and wander in to town before check-in. The location is good - 10 minutes to town, we found the hill on the way back to be fine, although wouldn't want to do it multiple times a... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Highways House, built in 1874, is a 5 room (all en suite) guest house. We are ten minutes walk into the city centre (Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, etc) and the return journey is a little uphill towards the end. We are on a main bus & cab route, and well away from the city centre's noisy pubs and clubs that are so busy at weekends. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and friendliness. ... more   less
