Staff extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable about the area. The hotel is very clean and our room was of a high standard for the price we paid. The included breakfast was brilliant would definitely recommend having the breakfast. The hotel is very dog friendly.
Booked the Explore and Stay package which was exceptional value. Room, afternoon tea, breakfast, open top bus tour and on-site parking include. Located in Queen Square, the location is excellent for sightseeing and shopping. All the staff are extremely helpful and efficient. Rooms were clean and well equipped with a large shower room and very comfortable bed which afforded us a great night’s sleep. Food and service in the restaurant were also excellent. When booking breakfast, reception advised us of a large party of tourists that were booked for breakfast at 7am so we could avoid that time as service would be slower. All in all we had a wonderful stay.
What a beautiful hotel, old building full of the amazing character you look for when booking and older building. It's full of charm and atmosphere- front desk team was the most enthusiastic team I've ever met - I gave this feedback at check out I was told the hotel have a special saying 'its the people that make the place' I have to say they hit thenail on the head. The staff do truly make a difference. A little niggle here and there but the building is perfectly imperfect reflecting true heritage. The building is well kept all things considered and very clean with staff cleaning throughout the day. Special thanks has to go to Paige on front desk, I think you have a manager in the making there - she knows exactly how to deal with people and you can tell she's doing a multiple things but she will drop to answer the simplest enquiry. Others worthy of note are Talitha and Terence very friendly faces and truly great people with good conversation. Plan on visiting again for the Christmas Market and excited already! See you all then…
Hotel is in a fantastic location, right in the centre of Bath. Very convenient car park to the rear. All staff we encountered throughout our stay were exemplary. Breakfast was just average, and expensive for what you get. We were in room 316, which was tiny, you could take your pet cat, as there is no way you could swing it about in that room. If you are over 6ft, you will bang your head on the eaves if you get out the right hand side of the bed. Room had an alarming dip in the middle of the floor, which made the bed feel as of it was sloping downwards. Fixtures and fittings in the room were great. Toilet was the same story, tiny. If you had a mind to, you could sit on the toilet, wash your hands on the basin and wash your hair in the shower, all at the same time. Would definitely visit this hotel again, but only if I was guaranteed not to get that room. Did I mention, it is TINY…
Wait 25 mins for porridge with skin on it then cooked plate arrives seconds later. Needs serious reorganising!. Queues to get to tables ! As kitchen so slow to serve. Not good enough to say I’m busy you knew we were coming! . Grrr.plenty of staff to clean tables but lots waiting for food
We had a great stay, such a beautiful classic hotel. Great team aswell, they accommodated to us and gave us lots of information about the surrounding area and great recommendations. We will definitely be staying again.
We stayed at The Francis for a mid week break, 2 night stay. It was a fantastic experience. The room was beautiful, really clean and very comfortable. The hotel is in a prime location to visit everything Bath has to offer. From the first moment we went into the hotel, the staff were warm, welcoming and friendly. They couldn’t do enough to help, especially Gems.I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone
Spent last weekend at Francis Hotel which was fantastic. The staff went above and beyond to make everything perfect for my husband who is an amputee and in a wheelchair Their facilities are excellent for the disabled . We had family lunch on Sunday in the restaurant where we were looked after by Jake who was most helpful The reception staff and concierge were so helpful on arrival and our departure I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough
This hotel always delivers. If you book direct they often have deals, plus you get a free drink. We always use this hotel as it is right in the centre of Bath. The breakfasts are excellent, the cooked part of it is brought to the table. The waiter service is so fast. The coffee arrived in a large pot within a minute of us asking for it. Other staff to mention are in reception - Paige and Camille. Somehow they manage to deal with anything and remain unremittingly jolly throughout. The decor had improved since our previous visit. Really clever effect in the dining room, where layers of previous wallpaper have been exposed at the top of the walls. Finally, the afternoon tea was great value for £21. It's huge! We manged 2 of the 3 tiers, and we have big appetites.
The rooms are clean and lovely Food in the restaurant is very good. I came with a group but unfortunately my back and leg were so bad I could barely get around Gems at reception saw I was in pain and couldn't do enough for me. She bought me ice( the only thing that works a bit) and could not have been lovelier and more helpful Gems is a real asset to your hotel. Many thanks Gems You truly are a Gem!
