We were very disappointed in the hotel, particularly for the price. It seemed a very busy weekend for them but they should be able to operate even at full capacity. We arrived about 11am and left our bags, being told check in was from 2pm...More
First of all the parking, it’s round the back of the hotel and first come first served. Try to get in, just take a ticket at the barrier. Some people double park, so if you’re there for the whole weekend, it doesn’t matter a bit....More

I’m reviewing this hotel as we’ve stayed in a lot of hotels over the past 8 weeks due to a fire in our home and The Francis Hotel is definitely one of the best we’ve stayed in!

Comfy, modern bedrooms with good bathroom. First-class breakfast. All staff willing and friendly. Francis Hotel is part of elegant Queen's Square within easy walking distance of the Guildhall, the Assembly Rooms and Bath Abbey.
sorry, only just seen your question; I don't imagine it would be a problem if you told them in advance. There still seemed to be people around at that time whilst I was there and it is a lovely hotel, ideally situated... More

The Charlotte Street car park is a few minutes walk away. It is huge (1000+places) and you can pay by the hour, day, multiple days with multiple exit/entry (there are no barriers). We used it for our 4 day stay at The Francis and it was ideal. Had no security problems. You can pay via your phone - instructions are on the noticeboards in the car park - via the MiPermit system and you will get reminders of expiry and the ability to extend your stay via text remotely without having to return to the car park. i found it great.
