Staff very friendly at both check in & breakfast. Breakfast service was the most efficient breakfast service I have ever encountered (but we didnt feel rushed and the food was delicious). The decor in our room was a little tired but was perfectly comfortable and we had a very good nights sleep. Being about 10 mins walk from the city centre the honesty bar was very much appreciated at the end of a long day & the guest lounge was very comfortable and relaxing for an hour or so. Thank you for a nice stay.
Warm, comfy, and pleasant 3 day stay. Breakfast was good, plentiful, and fast to arrive. Would recommend this homey, close to town place. We used it as a home base to see Bath, Wells, and Glastonbury. The place was spotless and the staff was so friendly.
Our guidebook listed this as, basically, "the best of the lot" and perhaps it is. Having nothing to compare it to in Bath, however, we cannot say. We can say that the location is very convenient to the center of things (10 min walk), the room was clean and warm, and the breakfast was good. On the downside, however, our room (#8 on the second floor), was small and in need of some TLC (particularly the wallpaper and carpet), the narrow stairs made hauling the luggage a challenge, the sloping ceiling made it hard to get into one side of the bed, and the shower is tiny -- so much so that you could not put your elbows out to wash your hair. It was also rather dark. After check-in, we had virtually no interaction with the staff, so we can't say much about them. Altogether, it was perfectly serviceable but nothing to compel a repeat visit.…
We stayed at Brooks while in Bath. We stayed in room # 14 and it was pretty big with a view of Crescent Road. Since we had a tour planned early the next day, they brought over a picnic basket to our room the night before in lieu of breakfast. That was very thoughtful and sweet! It's the little details that make these experiences memorable. The location is pretty good. It was a 10-15 minute walk to the Roman Baths and eateries. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room not facing the street as the traffic noise will keep you up all night!
Our experience with Brooks was excellent from very first contact. The guesthouse is in a great location, within walking distance to the city centre. We would walk down into town for breakfast and it would take less than 15 minutes to get to the Abbey. On our last morning, we chose to eat at the guesthouse and we found it to be the best breakfast of our stay in Bath, the sausages were particularly good! If you book directly they currently have a free breakfast deal and I really wish we had known this before booking with Booking.com. The living room had some helpful local information including some local restaurant menus which was a great touch. When we arrived, the reception staff was super efficient. Our rooms were all very comfortable. We were a big family group and had two family rooms, with the four-poster and two rollaway beds, and two compact double rooms. The beds were comfy and even with 4 in the room we found we had enough space. The whole guesthouse was very clean and comfy and we would not hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to Bath. …
We just returned from a 3 night 4 day stay in Bath for my mums 60th Birthday and Brooks Guesthouse was a perfect place for our party of 12 (adults and children) to stay. Not only is it located near to the town centre, 10 minute walk away, but it's friendly and helpful staff make it a place I would love to return too. The rooms, we had 4, were all clean and beautifully decorated and the breakfast was not only delicious but very well priced. Thank you for a wonderful 4 days, we will definitely be returning.
All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was as described - compact, but comfortable. It was warm, but a standing fan in the room helped keep it cool. And a joy to be able to open the window. The location is convenient - less than 10 minute walk to the Theatre Royal. It is on a main road so there was some traffic noise with the window open, but nothing unexpected. Rooms and communal areas were clean, tipping slightly to the shabby side of shabby chic. Breakfast was very good, with good vegan options on the main menu.
The guesthouse is in a great location (approx. 10 minute walk from the centre of town) and our room was really clean. The receptionist was really welcoming and friendly and after we checked out we were able to keep the parking permit until the afternoon, which was really useful. It was very hot the weekend we stayed, but our room was lovely and cool.
We stayed one night whilst meeting up with friends. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The parking permit was very appreciated. Breakfast was very good with a wide range of options on the menu. The only downfall was that the breakfast room was very noisy with a lot of noise coming from the kitchen. At times we couldn't hear each other speak over the sounds of crockery and cutlery being washed stacked and sorted. Honestly it sounds trivial but it was really loud and we didn't need the piped music as well!
We were a group of three only staying in Bath for one night. Brooks Guesthouse provided us a central location from which to visit all the essential places of interest in one day. The staff was very friendly throughout our stay and took care of our luggage even though we arrived a bit earlier than expected. The room was extremely clean and the bathroom facilities modern and functional. The breakfast was very diverse and tasty, and the needs for vegan and gluten-free options within our group were well met. If I ever end up in Bath again, I would gladly stay at Brooks Guesthouse once more!
