A lot of steps in the B&B Afternoon tea not that great no choice in sandwiches. Only one scone each and a small piece of cake. Bedroom a bit dated wallpaper coming off bathroom door which didn't close probably. Pipes obviously old as the sink made a very loud noise when running tap. Got woken up at 5am by someone having a shower in another room. Breakfast hamper good. Could do with more milk and sauces for bacon rolls

Property's Favorite Review
What a beautiful hotel with a wonderful four poster bed! Lovely cozy rooms but with plenty of room to move round, with gorgeous antique furniture. We had afternoon tea downstairs which was delicious, the home made scones were so fluffy. Service throughout was fantastic and I could not fault it, parking was easy and simple with loads of parking around. Super close to all the amenities and tourist spots about 10 mins comfortable walk even in a pair of heeled boots.

We stayed at the Brooks Guesthouse for 2 nights. We had a superior 4 poster king room. The room was ok - the wallpaper was peeling in places and didn’t feel especially clean. The bathroom looked nice at first glance but when you looked a bit more was mouldy in places with peeling paint. The shower wasn’t the cleanest and had mouldy tiles and someone else’s hair on the tiles on the first day. What was disappointing was that quality of sleep on the first night. I appreciate that the guesthouse is in an older building and that there will be some creaks and noises from other rooms what I didn’t expect was to be stopped from sleeping due to the room above us. This went on from 10pm until about 3am at midnight we rang the out of hours reception number but they basically said there was not much they could do. The next morning we spoke to the receptionist who informed us that it had been a group of young couples who had decided to congregate in that one room and you know what it’s like to be young. I wasn’t too impressed with this response. Fortunately our second night was a better nights sleep for us thanks to quieter guests above. Our package included an afternoon tea. I am very glad that we didn’t pay extra for this as it wasn’t worth it I’m afraid. For two of us it was 6 small sandwich triangles, a scone each and a mouthful of cake. The Prosecco included in the package was nice however so I would recommend that. The hamper breakfast was nice, I think allowing guests a bit more choice over drinks and putting a bit more milk in would make it even better! Overall we had a nice visit to Bath at an average B&B with a good deal.

We’ve been staying for a number of years now and it’s like coming home. The staff are warm, kind and thoughtful and help wherever they can. Even in these difficult times they are operating safely and making your stay relaxing and comfortable delivering delicious breakfast to your room and trying to make your experience as near to it would have been in the past. I couldn’t recommend Brooks more highly.

We booked the Brooks Guesthouse hotel for one night on our recent wedding anniversary, choosing the special offer with Four Poster Superior King room, afternoon tea, Prosecco, breakfast and late checkout. Unfortunately there were no superior king rooms available so we accepted a twin room made into a double which was completely fine for our one night stay. The guesthouse is about 10 minutes walk from the train station and really easy to find. The Royal Crescent is at the rear of the building just a couple of minutes walk up the hill. Check-in was a simple affair following current Covid-19 guidelines, our room was ready and left unlocked so we didn’t need to touch anything at reception whilst we registered. Our double/twin was quite small but the bathroom was quite big running the whole length of the room and contained a good quality glass shower cubicle. The boutique decor of the room is charming and the antique furniture pieces compliments the style of the building well. We booked our cream tea in the downstairs breakfast room for 14:30 and this was served promptly at that time, the food was nicely prepared and served with fresh tea/coffee. Once we finished this we wondered back to our room to drink our Prosecco via the well stocked honesty bar. The Guest living Room is a cosy and comfortable place to relax, the fire was lit during our stay so nice and toasty. Next morning at 09:30 as requested after a brief tap on the door the amazing breakfast hamper was delivered and left outside. The hamper contained loads of goodies including bacon baguettes, finger rolls, cereals, fresh milk, orange & apple juice in reusable glass bottles. There was more than enough food for two and we didn’t finish everything. We really enjoyed our breakfast hamper it’s something a bit different and certainly something we’ve never experienced before. Had a lovely stay at the Brooks Guesthouse, brilliant value for money, good location, polite and very well organised staff. Highly recommended!
