5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed here in June (for the second time) to celebrate our 30th anniversary, and it was the perfect treat as we were upgraded to a four-poster room which made the stay extra special. The staff are excellent, the hotel lovely. Breakfast is very good, freshly cooked to order. Being so close to the town centre and able to park... More

We stayed here for the second time having stayed here for our honeymoon in 2014. The place is just as welcoming and well run as before and we will certainly be back. Many thanks for a lovely stay (and a great breakfast!)

This smart boutique hotel has lovely friendly staff, attractive rooms and always delivers a delicious breakfast. We have stayed here 3 times now in different rooms and they are all decorated to a high standard. The fact that they offer car parking so near to the centre of bath is an added bonus too. The down size is all the... More

The hotel itself is beautiful, as was the room we stayed in. The location is a 5 minute walk into in the town centre and within close proximity from all the local attractions. This was the biggest plus. The staff are the brilliant too, right from booking over the telephone to the warm greeting and hospitality. On the day of... More

Enjoyed a couple of nights in this delightful Hotel as a treat for my wife who recently celebrated a birthday and has always wanted to visit the beautiful City of Bath. The Hotel is perfectly situated and has real charm throughout. We stayed in the Athol Room which gave a true reflection of the culture surrounding the City and was... More

Thank you for your absolute recommendation. We take great pride in our ‘cooked to order’ breakfast sourcing our fish from Paignton in Devon, award winning black pudding from the Isle of Lewis in Scotland and ‘old English’ sausages and smoked bacon from Terry and Son in Bath. The Athol four poster room; overlooking Great Pulteney Street has appropriate WOW factor... More

We've just finished a two week trip visiting Great Britain and this hotel was our stand out favorite! The room was very quaint and well appointed however it was the genuine friendliness of the staff that really made our stay memorable - from our arrival where a glass of wine sat waiting for us and a great chat with David... The hotel is in a most beautiful building which is decorated throughout in the appropriate style. The staff are welcoming and always helpful. If your room is on one of the higher floors as ours was, be prepared for the stairs its a long way up!!

As you note Dukes is a ‘beautiful building’; two wonderful Georgian Grade 1 listed townhouses offering 17 unique bedrooms all decorated in a manner complimenting the aesthetics of this 225 year old antique! Given our Grade 1 listed status we are precluded from introducing a lift and so for those not wishing to make the ‘ascent’ we encourage you to... More

Having talked about visiting Bath for ages I booked Dukes Hotel online for a weekend away to celebrate my wife's and mine wedding anniversary only to realise I had booked for a weekend that we couldn't actually attend! A phone call to the hotel to explain my error and the receptionist had quickly taken me on a virtual tour if... More

Delighted to be described as ‘top notch’!! We share a belief that Bath is well deserving of her World Heritage City status. As a team we seek to ensure that our guest thoroughly enjoy their visit. We needed a hotel in Bath for one night and chose the Dukes and what a good choice it was. We had a quiet double room on the first floor and the receptionist kindly carried a heavy case to the room. Having settled in, we accepted the offer of a glass of wine in the lounge. A minor criticism is... More

Delighted that you thoroughly enjoyed your ‘first floor room’ and appreciated the assistance with your luggage. The complimentary parking permit saves on a not insignificant £15-£20 overnight municipal fee - with access to 625 ‘on street’ parking bays most of our guests manage to ‘park up’ within very close proximity of Dukes. Many thanks and we welcome your return. More

The breakfast and service were excellent! The location was fabulous and the room was spotless. The only negatives were carrying luggage up and down 3 or 4 flights of stairs and the noise between rooms and from the street. Still, it was a positive experience over all.

I am sorry to read that you felt the need to ‘carry luggage up and down’ the stairs. As an independently owned and family operated property we are acutely aware of all features of the property. We clearly state on our website and will make every effort to assist guests whatever their needs or preference. We will always carry bags,... More
