What a really nice hotel. My wife and I stayed celebrating her birthday and our wedding anniversary. Very friendly staff who were helpful but not overbearing at all. Nice warm room tastefully furnished. Very nice breakfast. Recommended.
We stayed here for a weekend and, having trawled the details of several hotels in Bath , I know we picked the most beautiful! The Georgian building is on one of Bath’s famously handsome streets, within easy walking distance of the city’s famous sites, yet it is also very quiet. The staff at the hotel are amazing- so friendly and helpful. Without exception, everyone was cheerful, attentive (without being oppressive) and unfailingly charming. We had 2 rooms next to each other - one a superior double and the other a vast room with a four poster bed (The Athol Suite). So beautiful I could happily have moved in permanently!! If you are planning on spending time in Bath, you should have Dukes firmly at the top of your list. You won’t be disappointed.
Nice, cosy hotel in a good location. The hotel is run by a friendly and hospitable family. Some guests may need to be aware of the fact that there is no lift in the hotel and some rooms may be up lots of stairs. Obviously no fault of the hotel or its staff - just something you may neeed to consider. Overall, a really nice stay.
This is just the sort of hotel you want when visiting Bath, a quality hotel doing the best they can and it is just sublime. The owners and staff know how to treat visitors, helpful, informative and friendly
A most pleasant reception at what is a central, charming and quiet hotel. The rooms are a little dated and maybe a touch pricey for their limited amenities. Breakfast was quite good but a little disjointed. Having been asked to provide an arrival time found we were then compelled to accommodate the schedule of the kitchen which required our being served the cooked component whist eating fruit and cereals. Otherwise, a pleasant stay.
We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. The room was well appointed and lovely and warm during a particularly cold & snowy few days. All the staff were super friendly and welcoming. There was a good choice at breakfast and it was very tasty. The hotel was in a convenient location, just a few minutes walk from the centre. We will return! Thank you for a lovely stay.
This was the friendliest hotel I have ever stayed at. Very genuine and helpful, not pushy at all and just the nicest staff all round. The hotel was lovely and clean and comfortable and breakfast was very yummy. Will be back!
Fabulous stay for an anniversary weekend and a to visit the Bath Christmas markets. Service was excellent, the rooms spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was perfect. Proximity to the centre of Bath is really good and only 5 mins walk away. What more could you ask?
Dukes was a most pleasant experience from start to finish. We were made to feel very welcome, our room was spectacular with very good linen and towels and the breakfasts were enough to last us all day. ( The porridge with a shot of whiskey a particular favourite). Customer service was on point. We were sad to leave. Would highly recommend for a few nights stay in the most beautiful city of Bath.
This independent hotel offers everything you could ask for. Excellent service, exceptionally clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast and service was first class. And if that was not enough it’s only a couple of minutes walk from the cathedral. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Bath then I would highly recommend this hotel.
