What a really nice hotel. My wife and I stayed celebrating her birthday and our wedding anniversary. Very friendly staff who were helpful but not overbearing at all. Nice warm room tastefully furnished. Very nice breakfast. Recommended.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed here for a weekend and, having trawled the details of several hotels in Bath , I know we picked the most beautiful! The Georgian building is on one of Bath’s famously handsome streets, within easy walking distance of the city’s famous sites, yet it is also very quiet. The staff at the hotel are amazing- so friendly and helpful. Without exception, everyone was cheerful, attentive (without being oppressive) and unfailingly charming. We had 2 rooms next to each other - one a superior double and the other a vast room with a four poster bed (The Athol Suite). So beautiful I could happily have moved in permanently!! If you are planning on spending time in Bath, you should have Dukes firmly at the top of your list. You won’t be disappointed.

Nice, cosy hotel in a good location. The hotel is run by a friendly and hospitable family. Some guests may need to be aware of the fact that there is no lift in the hotel and some rooms may be up lots of stairs. Obviously no fault of the hotel or its staff - just something you may neeed to consider. Overall, a really nice stay.

Delighted that you enjoyed a ‘really nice stay’. We are supported by an excellent team who all contribute to ensuring the rooms are ‘at their best’, that your experience at reception is ‘warm, welcoming and helpful’ and your breakfast is ‘just as you’d like it’ Given our Grade 1 listed status the absence of a lift may indeed be a shortcoming, however our reception is open from early until late’ and a brief call will always ensure that we offer you the most suitable room for your stay and that we give you the best possible room rate available. Given our location, the majesty of Bath and the wonderful authenticity of our two Georgian townhouses our focus is on ensuring you thoroughly enjoy your stay and visit to Bath. Many thanks.

A most pleasant reception at what is a central, charming and quiet hotel. The rooms are a little dated and maybe a touch pricey for their limited amenities. Breakfast was quite good but a little disjointed. Having been asked to provide an arrival time found we were then compelled to accommodate the schedule of the kitchen which required our being served the cooked component whist eating fruit and cereals. Otherwise, a pleasant stay.

Many thanks for taking the time to write an informative review. We are sorry that you found your breakfast a little disjointed. We encourage our guests to declare a preferred breakfast time, really to ensure a smooth flow of guests through the breakfast room. Very unusual that your cooked to order breakfast would then have been prepared and available whilst you were still enjoying your fruit and cereals. Sorry for that, and trust that it did not detract too much from an enjoyable start to your day. We monitor the Bath market on an ongoing basis and would find ourselves consistently keenly and competitively priced. Many thanks for your review.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. The room was well appointed and lovely and warm during a particularly cold & snowy few days. All the staff were super friendly and welcoming. There was a good choice at breakfast and it was very tasty. The hotel was in a convenient location, just a few minutes walk from the centre. We will return! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Delighted that you found Dukes an ‘excellent hotel’ and thoroughly enjoyed your stay. Bath offers up an absolutely glorious back drop for mulled wine and Christmas craft shopping. In truth the City offer up a wonderful backdrop for a wedding, anniversary, family re-union or any number of family ‘landmark’ gatherings and celebrations! Many thanks for taking the time to write an excellent review.

Dukes was a most pleasant experience from start to finish. We were made to feel very welcome, our room was spectacular with very good linen and towels and the breakfasts were enough to last us all day. ( The porridge with a shot of whiskey a particular favourite). Customer service was on point. We were sad to leave. Would highly recommend for a few nights stay in the most beautiful city of Bath.

Thank you for the ‘highly recommended’ applause. We have always recognised breakfast as ‘the most important meal of the day’. Please to hear that breakfast kept hunger at bay for the daylight hours. As you note Bath is a beautiful ‘World Heritage City’ and Dukes is extraordinarily well located to fully embrace her charms. Many thanks.

This independent hotel offers everything you could ask for. Excellent service, exceptionally clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast and service was first class. And if that was not enough it’s only a couple of minutes walk from the cathedral. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Bath then I would highly recommend this hotel.

Thank you for your ‘highly recommended’ accolade. We are supported by a fabulous team each of whom strives to enhance the stay of our guests. As you note we are a few minutes level stroll from the heart of Bath. A promenade along Great Pulteney Street may be awe inspiring, certainly memorable. As one returns the vista of Great Pulteney Street and the status of the Holborne Museum at the head of the boulevard is uniquely impressive. Thank you.
