The wifi in our room was very slow indeed, barely able to receive or send simple emails. The management was unable to rectify this saying it was caused by the "thickness of the walls in an old building". So if reasonable wifi is important to you then this is not the hotel for you which is a pity as in all other respects the hotel was close to perfect. The room, the price, the staff, the breakfast and the location were all excellent. So good in fact that I would be tempted to return in the knowledge I would need to sit in the lobby to access emails. Parking on the street was a trifle difficult to find but it was free with the hotel permit. Dukes is a really nice hotel.

Amazing welcome from the second we arrived . they're Covid policy is professional but so well done. the rooms spotlessly clean, comfy individual rooms decor just really really nice. parking is not an issue as your given an on street parking permit. Breakfast was well managed, plentiful and delicious, at no point did we feel " Covid managed " but we were, i guess that's why we felt safe. Thank you Dukes Hotel Bath ,, see you again soon

Response from Christopher Cameron, Owner at Dukes Bath

We have worked to adapt our offering to the demands of being ‘covid safe’. We have carefully looked at every step our guests share with us, from first phone call, through to departure and looked to ‘build out’ all the risk. However, underpinning all our activities we share an acute awareness that guests are visiting us for a ‘break’ and to ‘get away from it all’ – we are delighted that you felt the balance was just right !! With regards to the old familiar elements of our offer, great that you thoroughly enjoyed breakfast. We set great store by our wonderful smoked fish from Paignton in Devon, award winning black pudding from the Isle of Lewis and the superb 'Old English' sausages from Terry and Son our local butcher. With access to over 625 on street parking bays our complimentary parking permits are a complete bonus, free on street parking for the duration of your agreed stay with us. Thank you for taking the time to write a reassuring and helpful review.

We spent a delightful week at Dukes Bath. We found the service excellent, the room was first class, the bed was so comfortable I could not believe it, the on-suite bathroom was very well appointed. Breakfast was full of choice and very delicious. We will definitely be going back.

We stayed here for three nights to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The location is perfect; very quiet but literally just a few minutes walk from the city centre. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel has a really nice atmosphere. There was a good choice for breakfast, which was freshly cooked to order and excellent. We had a suite on the top floor, with a bit of a view over the rooftops of Bath. We’d been given fair warning that the view wasn’t amazing, and that there were a lot of stairs, so what we had was what we expected and no grounds for complaint. Our suite was spacious, but was just starting to look a little bit tired. And the shower was a bit temperamental. Nothing that marred our stay, but the reason for giving 4 stars rather than 5. Bottom line, though - if we returned to Bath, we’d stay here again!

Arrived early and made use of the parking permit so that’s a massive plus, the dedication and help from the staff was amazing and made to feel really welcome. The room it self was immaculately clean with water and toiletries there on arrival. Breakfast was superb with a great selection and quality was top drawer, gets you setup nicely for a trip around Bath. Location is perfect for getting in to town and seeing all the attractions. Will be using this hotel again 100%
