Travelers' Choice
The Royal Crescent Hotel is the most impressively located luxury hotel in the World Heritage City of Bath, occupying the two central buildings of the world's finest crescent. The Grade-I listed buildings were designed by the famous Georgian Architect, John Wood the Younger and were first occupied in 1775. Beyond its magnificent facade lies a hotel renowned for its charm, elegance and superb service, and the unexpected beauty of the beautiful one-acre, landscaped garden leading to the skillfully converted coach houses, which now accommodate the award-winning Dower House Restaurant and The Spa. This iconic hotel is far more than a remarkable collection of buildings and beautiful gardens. It offers the opportunity to experience a style of gracious living from the age when Bath was the very centre of the civilized world. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are served daily and non-resident guests are welcome.

A really nice place to stay. Turn down service is very “Bath”. Spacious rooms are well appointed with comfy bed and a lot of furniture. At some point in the future they might consider taking out some excess furniture to make room for a larger bathroom with two sinks and a walk-in shower. We stayed at five different high end hotels during our two weeks in England and this was by far the most expensive. (You could buy a nice bottle of wine for the price of one glass of wine in the bar). The higher prices did not equate to perceived higher quality of services and amenities.

The hotel is in a great iconic location. Room had a lovely view although the bathroom is slightly small. Housekeeping was wonderful. Lovely breakfasts & afternoon tea. Also it was very nice to have drinks from the bar in the hotel’s private gardens. Lovely to have a swim in the hotel’s spa swimming pool. All staff professional, helpful and friendly and I look forward to staying again.

2 different rooms stay with family: Everybody was always extremely friendly and looking to help in any case. This hotel if one like that old britisch style was perfect. Everytime walking through the entrance was like coming home. The rooms are wonderful with high sealing and big bathrooms very proper and funktional. Breakfast is very good and various .Only the dining at the restaurant cannot keep the standard of the hotel. Maybe we are too spoiled from Switzerland but there is only the menu and you have to take it or not. No combinations you like or prefer and the alternative a la carte dishes by far didn't keep our expectations even in that exclusive ambiance .The staff is very engaged, friendly and tries its best to explain or minimize the kitchens unflexibility. Sorry ,we are used to exclusive cooking and if its fresh done there's always a possibility to find a fitting combination or skip one corse or change according to allergies or dislikes to find a happily degustation of the menu in that price range. We certainly come back for the hotel with breakfast, maybe we give another time the restaurant a second chance, but there have to be changes to more quality and flexibility Thank you royal crescent it was a pleasure homecoming experience.

Thank you for your feedback and we are pleased that you enjoyed your time with us and felt at home. I am sorry you did not feel we offered enough choice in our menus. We have an All Day Dining menu which offers sharing plates, salads, small dishes, various main dishes as well as desserts. We also have the Tasting Menu which is available in the evening. Sadly we cannot cook exclusively for each guest as we have 45 rooms and just not enough chefs to offer this service. I do hope that this did not deter too much from your stay. Lorraine

Amazing 3 nights here last month. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Beautiful hotel in all respects. One word of warning, be wary of a room adjacent to a dog friendly room. Our first night was sadly marred by the constant barking of a dog in the next room which had been left on its own. Only going quiet when we heard the owners return to their room at 0015 hours. They checked out the next day so no problem after that..!!
