The Royal Crescent Hotel is the most impressively located luxury hotel in the World Heritage City of Bath, occupying the two central buildings of the world's finest crescent. The Grade I listed buildings were designed by the famous Georgian Architect, John Wood the Younger and were first occupied in 1775.Beyond its magnificent facade lies a hotel renowned for its charm, elegance and superb service, and, the unexpected beauty of the beautiful one-acre, landscaped garden leading to the skillfully converted coach houses, which now accommodate the award-winning Dower House restaurant and The Spa.This iconic hotel is far more than a remarkable collection of buildings and beautiful gardens. It offers the opportunity to experience a style of gracious living from the age when Bath was the very centre of the civilized world.Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are served daily and non-resident guests are welcome.

We stayed at the Royal Crescent for our honeymoon 6 years ago and decided to vist again for our wedding anniversary. Although the staff were all fantastic, we were thoroughly disapointed with our room (Heritage Room 40) which looked directly into another room opposite and out onto bins in the street outside, so we had to keep the curtains closed the whole time. The furniture seemed old and tired with holes in the wardrobe and a vanity station where the seat was too low to see into the mirror. The bathroom was again tired and had mould in the tile grout and black mould in the seleant and the shower repeatedly went cold to hot. We went to the bar in the evening which had a reduced menu with some strange drink selections but the main issue was the aircon which was set to freeze and so we both went back to our room shivering with the cold. On the plus side, the spa was excellent and thoroughly enjoyable. Unfortunately, after this dissapointing visit we won't be coming back again. I'm not sure what has changed in the last 6 years since our original visit but overall we felt the cost was just not worth it and we feel quite let down.

Lovely room; extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Staff very attentive. Dinner very good; my wife said the mussels were the best ever! Only slight negative; bathroom a bit small, but how long do you need to spend in the bathroom?

We stayed here for just one night as a belated 60th birthday treat postponed from June due to lockdown. We had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay possible. The hotel, location and standard of all rooms is just superb, but what made out stay really special was the 100% fantastic staff who were helpful, warm, welcoming and just the best we have encountered anywhere. Everyone from check-in, through to restaurant and spa staff and the housekeepers were just delightful and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend the massages at the spa and the fabulous (and very reasonable) evening tasting menu. Thank you to all of the staff - it was such a lovely stay. We will be back!

Amazing stay - truly exception. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food was exquisite and the rooms and spa very comfortable. The gardens were beautiful and the concierge was very helpful in arranging a private tour with a Blue Badge Tour Guide at short notice. A very special experience.

Hotel overall was very good especially considering the challenges with the Covid situation. The grounds a wonderful, food and service high standard. However we found the ambiance in the restaurant to be a little stuffy.
