Really enjoyed our stay here. The staff is welcoming, nice feel when you walk into the pub. Found it a bit difficult to find the entrance to get into the hotel when we came back from a dinner date in the town. They did advise us how to get in but it was a bit of a maze to find... More

So, in response to a negative review below, I also stayed in Abbey a week ago, was able to work the radiator to reduce the temperature and the staff have always been incredibly helpful to me. I've recommended The Griffin to dozens of colleagues and friends over the last year and no one has been disappointed. In fact in an... More

Stayed in Abbey Room. Could not adjust the heating as it was faulty. Room was far too hot. Had to get ready in my friends room. Quite funny that this was the only room with a fan yet the staff's response was that there was no issue. When reporting the issue the lady I spoke to was extremely rude. I... More

This account bears only a passing resemblance to the truth, yes the lady complained about the room being too hot, to which the charming lady on duty (Hannah) did everything she could to alleviate the issue, namely by opening the window, providing a fan and turning off the radiator. As for the rest of this sorry fiction, I am delighted... More

My partner and I had one night break in Bath choosing this cosy place, the room was quite ok apart from the way, dark and overlooking a small and deep internal area but the best part of it was Lia the lovely and friendly lady at the breakfast. With her warmth she made our stay better, really prompt and helpfull... More

We have been there for one night. Our first impressions was not really good, but at the end it's like a small inn, so what could we expect? Our room was small but really warm. I loved their bed. I liked the restaurant where we have been for our breakfast the day after. I really enjoyed Lia, thank you very... More

Wandering around Bath found this gem in the backstreets. Made to feel totally at home by member of staff called Lea. Watched as everyone was made feel welcome and at home, great selection of Bristol beers a must if your looking for a true inn.

Stayed here ahead of a Christening back in May, on a busy weekend in Bath where there was not a lot of accommodation left. We needn't have worried as this was a hidden gem. You are welcomed with a drink, which is a nice touch and the room was comfortable with decent facilities. The Inn is in a convenient location... More

Good. Friendly. Polite. Lovely. What a pleasant young chap who served a refreshing pint of local ales which were fabulous. Would obviously visit again just for the customer service and the refreshing local ales.

A cosy inn, room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice, a selection of items cooked to order plus cereal, toast, yogurt, small pastries etc. Staff were lovely – very friendly and helpful. The only downside was the private bathroom / toilet had to be accessed through a public corridor and the wifi was pretty much non-existent.

Apologies about the wifi, it is intermittent due to the age of the building and you were staying in our one room that doesn't have en-suite bathroom, I appreciate that this is not ideal, however it is significantly cheaper than the other single rooms as a consequence. Delighted that you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again... More
