My wife and I visiting Shrewsbury for a couple of days decided to stay here and booked from Bristol. It's a good hotel with polite and friendly staff and clean rooms. The breakfast is excellent as is the hotel bar. A good place to stay.

Stayed at the Lord Hill Hotel after a wedding. They were accommodating when we needed to check in early although gave wildly complicated directions to our hotel room which turned out was in another building on the other side of the car park, and did not offer to take us there or show us the way even when we asked...

Stayed here for a few nights on business. Lodge rooms (at the bottom of the car park from the main hotel building) had something of the student halls of residence about them. Perfectly serviceable, but pretty tired and shabby. Hotel not particularly well-situated if you want Shrewsbury town centre. Ate in the bar on Sunday night - I'll be charitable...

Use this hotel a couple of times a year when visiting family living in Shrewsbury. It consists of the main building and an annexe at the bottom of the car park. Both the main building bedrooms and those in the annexe are well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent with lots of choice served in the conservatory.

This place is superb and the external photos do not do it justice. The place is full of character and the room I was given ticked all the boxes and a few more. I stayed for two nights and had the most comfortable stay and coupled with some excellent food it wrapped up a memorable stay.

My room was in the lodge at the back of the main hotel, the room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location is good for the centre, about 10 minutes walk and the free car park is large and safe.

Spent 3 nights here with colleagues. We were 'allocated' small rooms in the lodge which is about 70 metres from the hotel (and a long way when it is raining and you are carrying suitcases etc) and overlooks a high volume main road. Rooms were a bit 'beaten up', not 'oldy worldy' but very tired/shabby with lots of damage. Wardrobe...

We had two nights here. So you enter the room in the lodge. First impression is not too small. But then you look at the room with the lights on. Carpet is filthy, loads of stains all over it. Didn't walk barefooted just couldn't. Bathroom floor, well it's dirty and very badly stained. So bad it's clear what the colour...
