We have just arrived home after 2 nights in one of the glamping pods at Abel's Harp (March 2017). After a long 2 1/2 hour drive (40 mins down narrow country roads in the pitch black) we arrived at the hotel, a little later than expected... 8pm. We had planned to stop off for food on route but traffic got...

My wife and I were given a voucher for afternoon tea at the Abel's Harp, and turned up not knowing what to expect. From the outset we knew we were going to be pleased! Entry was via the "Eating & Drinking" door leading into the bar / lounge, where we were greeted by a lovely young lady who took our...

My husband and myself stayed here for one night in a glamping lodge. Lovely little place, shabby chic style. Made to feel welcome and staff were helpful. Breakfast was delicious the next day. I could image this place being fantastic for a small wedding or event. Had a great time. And the views are fabulous.

I read up the day before going and became a bit concerned. However, it was actually pretty good. Could never get 5* as they don't allow BBQs or your own alcohol which are the two reasons you go glamping. The cabins were nice, had two heaters in, left one on all night but didn't put the other on and it...

My wife & I arrived on Monday night. I should first of all say that we were due to visit in November but due to illness we didn't make it. The staff couldn't have been more helpful with the rearrangement. On arrival first glance showed the place to be the kind of quirky venue we both like if a little...

I had no pre-conceived idea of what I would be staying in or the facilities when I received this present, so to be honest was quite shocked when we got the keys to all I can describe as a shed with a bed. However, we were away from home for a couple of nights and surrounded by the most spectacular...

We really enjoyed glamping here. Even during storm Doris, they made sure we were warm with two heaters and we enjoyed the hot tub before the weather got really bad. Breakfast was lovely and staff were all really helpful.

Booked the Glamping Groupon deal, months in advance for a one night birthday treat. Couldn't wait for a relaxing soak in the Hot Tub, overlooking the Shropshire hills. First impressions were mixed. Once you've eventually found it, it's very quirky, and fairly romantic - perfect for couples (so we thought...) We did get some lovely photos, but they end up...

My boyfriend booked this for a belated valentines weekend. We stayed Friday and Saturday night and we're currently on the way home as we speak... we just couldn't wait to leave a positive review! There's nothing we'd fault with this place. We stayed in one of the Glamping cabins "Eros" and it was so cute. The views were beautiful, the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Abel's Harp is a small vintage style hotel and licensed wedding venue set in five acres of beautiful Shropshire countryside. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with fantastic views. All rooms are en-suite and individually themed. There is an on site restaurant, bar and gallery. It is a relaxed and quirky hotel and is an excellent place to stay if you want to visit Welsh Pool, Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Church Stretton, Powys Castle or to walk The Stiperstones or Long Mynd. We also specialise in bespoke weddings particularly in vintage, festival and country style weddings where parties can benefit from the land, views and creativity of the hotels design. We have two licensed ceremony areas one inside and one outside in our courtyard garden. Our food is a mix of dishes with a quirky twist, we like to think we have something on our menu for everyone. Our afternoon tea is also a real treat with its hand-made cake pops and Alice in Wonderland themed biscuits, a mix of finger sandwiches and scones and a variety of cakes. We really want all of our guests to have a great time and appreciate the time and effort of those who have given us feedback on Trip Advisor, we are proud to have a certificate of excellence. ... more   less
