The excellent landlady makes this place wonderful! It is well-located and not too far to walk from the train station. There are many pubs and restaurants nearby. The house is Elizabethan-aged and the walls sag a bit in places. The floors are uneven. This is part of the charm - like the landlady! The food was satisfactory. The furnishings are... More

Thank you Maurine! Looked after us so well for the weekend, really made our experience :) we I'll be back next autumn, highly recommended. The hotel is right in the town centre, but in a quiet spot, do perfect for small kids to sleep in. En suite bathrooms in the family room also means more privacy

What a cracking b&b. This charming old house is situated in a really convenient location. The building itself is just gorgeous. Maureen, the owner, is a perfect host. The rooms are clean, beds comfy, and breakfast is brilliant. This is now the only place I'd stay at in Shrewsbury. Fantastic value for money.

There's so many aspects to College Hill Guesthouse that it's difficult to know how to begin describing it. Foremost would be that you'll get great value for your money at this hidden gem. The proprietor Maureen Buckley is very warm and welcoming and is a font of knowledge on Shrewsbury. Her full English breakfasts are delicious. My father particularly enjoyed... More

Maurene made us feel at home right away and she served great breakfasts. Exceptionally good hospitality. Our room facing the street in this 550 year old house was sunny and spacious with ensuite. WiFi worked well, as did on-demand hot water in shower. A little tricky to locate in the twisting streets of Shrewsbury, but well worth the search. Easiest... More

Maureen provided us with the perfect home when we visited Shrewsbury for the weekend, my husband for a course and me to explore the town in which I grew up in the '50s and '60s. Right in the town centre, the distinguished house is nevertheless very peaceful and full of historic character, clean and comfortable, with lots of thoughtful touches,... More

Comfort and Cosiness is second to none her, and further made enjoyable by the continuing warm presence of the house keeper Maureen, who made my stay even more pleasant. The location is a few steps away from the main high street of Shrewsbury, and easily locatable. The rooms cosy and beds extremely comfortable, making for a dreamy nights sleep. Breakfast... More

I was traveling with 3 teens and so was drawn to this b&b because it has a very economical family room and was near city center. We ended up in two rooms for the same rate, which was actually even better for us and had a lovely stay with Maureen in her dear, quirky, crooked staired house. If you want... More

A large group of us stayed in College Hill Guest House for 2 nights and I have to say it was a pleasure to stay in. This B&B stands right in the middle of town center, allowing quick or should I say instant access to restaurants, shops, pharmacies and other establishments. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast was more... More
