Went with a friend for a drink and we were able to chat without shouting. Have been before when there was a singer which was very good. Great place for an intimate drink but also for large groups. Will visit again soon. Have not stayed at the hotel so can't comment on that.

We stayed at the Lion and Pheasant just before Christmas 2016. It takes quite a lot to impress us these days but the Lion and Pheasant did just that. We stayed in the Loft Suite and it was absolutely gorgeous with its exposed beams and deep free standing bath. We had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious, as was...

We came for the NYE celebrations and a overnight stay. We had a fantastic time, the whole evening was perfectly planned out and effortlessly done. The food amazing, the room modern, clean and with everything we would need. Everything all came together amazingly but the best thing about the night was the team that were on. They really made the...

Perfect location for all areas to get to in the town , wouldn't recommend for anyone who struggles with stairs and walking however. Staff lovely and friendly, very chatty especially the night manager extremely helpful. Fantastic range...

This is a wonderful 'boutique' hotel, offering a bar that specialises in Gin and some good quality live music (depending on which night you visit) The room was beautiful, but my only gripe was that we where situated in a room that was next to the main road, which meant it became very noisy from 7am onwards. I'd imagine it...

We had a very enjoyable pre Christmas two night stay here, the hotel is very stylish but feels relaxed and cosy. Our room was on the second floor with windows overlooking the English Bridge, the road was busy but we slept well, nice bedding, bathroom, all very clean. The age of the building is apparent on the stairways down to...

The food was well prepared and presented. The staff were very friendly and attentive without being over bearing. There was a lovely ambience. We were celebrating a major birthday and were not disappointed, we will definitely return. David Edwards. Newbury

Enjoyed a great meal here on 3rd December with my partner and parents to celebrate my dad's birthday. The various rooms of seating throughout the restaurant seemed a little daunting at first as the place is deceptively big, but the lovely bright decoration of the rooms makes each feel nice and spacious. As we visited in December each room seemed...
