On arrival at Darwins we were given a welcoming reception & taken to our room (6) Please note this room is on the top floor accessed by 2 flights of stairs. Help with bags is readily offered. Very pleased with the large room which was furnished to a high standard & overlooked the garden. Very quite overnight although with windows... More

Have used these premises for many years under the previous ownership when it was Sandford House Hotel. Was not impressed with the changes although the dining room was a great improvement. Wardrobes appear to be a thing of the past and had been replaced by a hanging rail so there was nowhere to store your case/bags out of sight.Dogs are... More

We had a room across the garden from the main house, which looked lovely. We booked a triple room, expecting a double and single bed but found 3 singles, squashed into a small room. We had failed to see on the website that they allowed dogs and as someone who has asthma, this caused a difficult night. The room was... More

We were in room 7 for just one night as a treat away from the kids. The welcome we received at reception was very warm and full of enthusiasm for the hotel and its amenities. We loved the lounge and honesty bar, we don't usually use communal areas in hotels but this felt different as it still seemed quite private.... More

What a beautifully, tastefully decorated house this is. Wife and I stayed here for 2 nights when we were away for her birthday this week. Staff were polite, professional, friendly, informative and could not do enough for us. Bedroom was excellently decorated and the bed was very comfy. Bathroom was stunning. TV reception was good and wifi was excellent. Ample... More

Stayed here for one night for my husbands 50th birthday. The staff were all very welcoming and the room was lovely (room 5). Breakfast was just right and cooked perfectly. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and would choose again for sure. Thanks for a relaxing stay.

We came across this boutique B&B almost by accident following an email offer. Despite booking after the offer had expired, the management honoured the rate quoted. Good start! The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. The accommodation itself was fantastic, with high end details everywhere. Relaxing in the garden with a bottle of complimentary Proseco after a day sightseeing... More

Location is good. The river walk is close by and the town centre within easy reach. We parked in the nearby car park at £4 for the day. The only slight niggle is that the next day starts from 8 am so you have to pop out early to renew it. The accommodation is in either the main listed building... More

My husband & I stayed here the night after our wedding. We were treated by our bridesmaids. All the staff were exceptionally friendly. Breakfast was beautiful, so much choice. Rooms were very clean. Definitely stay here again. Just wish we had more time here.

Booked this for a short break in Shrewsbury. Had no idea what the hotel was like prior to booking. On arrival the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location could not be better, right on the river and only a short walk in to the town. We liked it that much we tried to book a 2nd night but... More
