Booked this hotel in October to stay in December. Paid in full. Five days before arrival date we were told our reservation was cancelled. No apology. No response from the hotel despite phoning 3 times and being told 3 times that someone would get back to me. Terrible customer service. Avoid this hotel!!!!!!!!

Friendly welcome from the man at reception and helpful as he gave us a map of the area to help. Typical room for a Holiday Inn however there was cobwebs on the ceiling. The reading lights on both sides of the bed were not working and the extractor fan in the bathroom did not turn off at all which was annoying at night so we had to keep the bathroom door shut. Did mention it to reception but was told it does not go off due to ‘smells’. The stairs near to our room did not looked at had been cleaned the time we were there as there was the same bit of mud for four days in the same place. Fire doors were not obviously alarmed as stated as twice I had to shut them due to being left open. At our first breakfast, some of the staff had no manners. Young girl was cleaning down by the food which was no issue however she saw me waiting and when she had finished, no apologies for keeping me waiting. While making a coffee at the machine, a young lad who works there decided to do target practise at the bin with a wet paper towel. The wet paper towel landed by my feet. He came and picked it up but no apologies for what he had done. Tuesday at breakfast there was lots of uncleared tables to the point someone had to ask for them to be moved so they could sit down. 4 members of staff just standing around chatting. There were no glasses, no tea spoons and some of the cutlery was dirty. Wednesday was a lot better. Staff more proactive to the point they cleared away plates before people had finished. Best part of our stay was the shower. Most Hoilday Inn showers leak.

Situated in a Business Park. Car Park dark. Two storey hotel. No offer of ground or first floor. When we asked for first floor, receptionist said no. Without a word the other girl went upstairs for some time. Girl then asked for bank details to be read out! (which she was repeating aloud!!) I held card up for her. We were then told to wait as the other girl had went to make up a sofa bed upstairs for us. Then the room number was said aloud too! The room itself smelled, the window was left open (obv as smelled) . Bed presentation wasn't great...certainly not what's in the photos! Pillows looked thrown on. Toilet shabby, floor tiles loose and moved. Not many towels. Empty tissue box. Shower door filthy. Ordered food. Limited awful menu. Air con sounded like someone marching around in high heels and light from it was like a night light!! Did not sleep. Sofa bed was awful. You could feel the metal beneath the mattress and hear it on every turn. Sanitisers at lifts pretty much empty and weren't refilled next day. Shabby hotel. Wouldn't recommend.

Short stay on bed & breakfast basis, dog friendly, comfortable room and good breakfast. Breakfast was self service and there was everything you’d need, cooked/continental and all presented well. We arrived on the 1st night to late to search for something to eat, so we ordered from the room. Good service and the food was good. Hotel is in a good position, outside of the centre but a short easy 5 min drive we’d found a city centre car park
