We have visited here many times for food and our last visit was no exception to our others. Food is always spot on. Great choice of real ales which rotate on a barrel to barrel basis. Our favourite place to go when walking in Ironbridge.

We stayed a couple of nights in a very clean room. Nice little touches - water and tea making facilities. Quiet despite being a well visited pub. Maybe needs a brush up on the decor though. Comfy four poster(!) and large bathroom. Bar has a great local feel to it, great beer - evening food is acceptable but the breakfasts... More

We called in here in May and sat outside for a drink in the sunshine and immediately liked it so decided to come back this month and stay for 3 nights.Ironbridge is a fascinating place to visit, so inevitably can get very busy so that's why the Golden Ball is in an oasis of calm. The staff are so helpful,... More

Popped into the Golden Ball for lunch with my husband yesterday lunchtime. The menu on the blackboard was so interesting, not just the bog standard pub lunch. We spent so much time deciding what to eat as everything sounded so lovely and delicious. Finally I ordered the garlic and rosemary marinated lamb chop on greek salad with crispy aubergines. My... Gorgeous and hearty Sunday lunch here. Would recommend. Lovely pub with lots of character and friendly staff. The Sunday lunch had a generous portion of meat and a homemade Yorkshire pudding and veg, other things were on the menu too and there was lots of choice.

Myself and a friend stayed here on a belated Christmas present jaunt. Very quirky, lovely area, walkable into the main town to see the bridge and attractions. We stayed in the Paradise room with the four poster and huge bathroom. It was clean, tidy, well presented. Yes there are a few things that xpuld be done to give it the... More

If this evening is anything to go by, don't expect a friendly welcome here. We visited the venue for a drink, not to eat, and as the bar was crowded we found an empty room not set for food (no table mats, cutlery or crockery in evidence) and sat down for a quiet drink. We were interrupted by a member... More
