Visited Sheffield for a night out with friends who lived on the west side of the city. Wanted a hotel in the vicinity to stay over and knew the Psalter was handy for the restaurant we would be eating at so decided to book a room for the 1 night. Have to agree with many of the other reviewers about... More

Not very impressed at all. Very dated pub and rooms. Really in need of a refurb, but it's the little things that were disappointing. Mugs in the room stained. Curtains falling off. Windows filthy. I booked a room as it was closest to the venue...But wouldn't stay there again

Seriously filthy. Wall paper coming away from the ceiling. Curtain falling off.....it actually came of when I closed them!. Mouldy shower. Dirty mugs. This is the standard here not a one off. Could hardly see out of the windows they were that filthy. Cob webs and dust hanging of the ceiling and light shades. Water pressure in the shower was... More

Booked the Psalter 3 months before needing the room. We were staying after a wedding. Arrived at the Psalter almost ready but needing to change. Went to check in. One of the staff was busily chatting away with a friend as we patiently waited to be seen to. I advised of my name and booking reference. The man who seemed... More

Stayed over for one night , room I stayed in needed improving ! Lamp next to bed didn't work and had no shade around it. Ceiling wall paper was dropping off , marks on the bathroom blind and hand wash bottle was missing a lid. Marks on the skirting that needed cleaning and furniture in the room need a good... More

We have often driven past the Psalter on many occasions and liked the location. We booked for one night stay. The staff were friendly but the bar and bed room are in need of refurbishment, It was impossible to obtain an acceptable temperature from the shower, either too hot or a dribble of lukewarm water. The bed was comfortable and... More

We called in The Psalter for quick bite during my daughter's lunch break from work. (she works across the road, so the pub is very handy) The place was fairly quiet, and a peek at the lunchtime menu might have explained why. Only cold fayre was on offer, apart from pizza. I'm not a bread eater so I was struggling.... More

Stayed here in April with my boyfriend for what was meant to be for 8 nights and only managed 3! On arrival they were not aware of our booking and took over 30 mins to sort out a room and find keys. They tried to sort this by giving us a free drink and a slight discount. The decor was... More

The room I stayed in (17) was very quiet, even though it is located above the pub. The room was spacious, but in need of some small repairs. Still, for the price I paid, which included breakfast, this was a very good deal. It is located near a nice shopping area in a quiet part of Sheffield. The breakfast was... More
