Suggest premier Inn around the corner only went here as that was booked up. Poor service, staff and dirty run down. Arrived late and it was locked up. Bell didn't work and had to call hotel to let me in wasn't impressed!

Nice Hotel, Good Bar, Good Breakfast, though room is a bit small. Very close to restraunts and nightlife. In a dodgy area of reading though, you could see a man shooting heroin into his dick from the front.

great for well priced drinks & reasonable pub food. Only seconds from the oracle. Ideal for a week end break in their fair priced rooms. One of the few pubs that retain the sunshine after 6pm. Popular for parties & meetings

Basic but tasty Sunday lunch, very Pubby and ok if you don't mind bad language from staff and regulars in the back ground!! Best not take the kids!! The wine list was VERY poor but they pride themselves on are and micro brewery which looked good. Won't rush back but served a purpose.

The location is absolutely perfect to do anything in Reading. We spent the day shopping and having lunch and dinner and it is literally across the road from the hotel which means no need to drive. Parking is just across the road, it's £6 for 24 hours at the weekend. Really handy and closeby, also very secure. The staff were... More

This hotel is just opposite the Oracle. There are so many restaurants along the river Kennet which is also on the opposite side of road to the hotel. It is not far from the main road - Broad Street. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and had the things that were needed in the room.... More

This review is based only on a one night experience....it is a lovely place to be though an elevator could do even though help was offered to carry the luggage. The allocated room was simple, clean and well organized. Although I didn't use the restaurant, the food and beverage area is Dickensian in look to match the theme as it... More

First time at a new hotel naturally you have Expectations would this experience be Great? This is a quaint building dating back to the time of Charles Dickens, and it is he whom this theme hotel and pub is based around. Being a period property it is not wheelchair friendly with steep steps to get in and even steeper steps... More
