I've stayed here a couple of times this year. It is reasonably priced, clean and comfortable but would gain from some refurbishment. This is why I rate it average. The location by the river is good but not central.

We have stayed at this hotel several times & it is always excellent, breakfast is fabulous with lots of choice. The rooms overlooking the river are very quiet with a lovely view. Maria looked after us extremely well & nothing was too much trouble for her.

Stayed at the hotel during a business trip for 3 nights. Was the first time I've stayed here, and one of the few hotels in Reading I haven't stayed at. Now it's clear why. To start with the restaurant: You need a level of patience that's unheard of. They take 20 minutes before they ask you what you want to... More

Nice and comfortable, used the spa and pool. Not the best facilities but acceptable for a change of scene. small selection at breakfast. Free car park and wifi. A little expensive for what it was. Nice location by the river but quite a walk to the centre.

I stayed at this hotel in October this year with a group of friends. We all live across the country so picked a midpoint which was Reading. I must admit when I saw a photo of the front of the hotel I was a bit sceptical, but I was pleasantly surprised once I arrived. The hotel is easy to find... More

This was a quality experience. The room was comfortable, the bed was good - left on the pillow was a small container of pillow spray and oil for the pulses to help us sleep! The surroundings are pleasant, a main road at the front, but a walk by the river at the back. Breakfast was of good quality and the... More

I have stayed here many times when we visit reading annually for work. It is always my first choice when booking a hotel in reading. Rooms are always clean and extremely comfortable. Food is very good although a little limited for vegetarians and vegans. Breakfast is ample and veggie sausages are a valid on request which is a bonus for... More

I went here for an annual meet-up with friends, hoping for a good Afternoon Tea and a chance to natter. Certainly the price at £30 per person suggested this would be a nice experience. What we actually got were some so-so sandwiches and cakes, and service that ranged from unhelpful (when we asked for sandwich substitution as one of us... More

I stay in hotels 2/3 nights per week and the Crowne Plaza Reading is The only hotel I've stayed at that charges £17 for breakfast , which is plenty I might add and then ........ charges an extra £3 for a poached egg on top ! Come on Crowne Plaza there is no need for this style of trading.
