Detailed Reviews
Only staying one night and just needed a bed, given other hotels in Reading where either fully booked or stupidly expensive I thought I would give this a try. Even paid extra for a window, which I admit was frosted so you cannot see through it. Arrived to a friendly receptionist who advised me as I booked online I got free WiFi but not free TV which I was aware of and did not need anyway. I admit the room was compact, but it had everything I needed a decent bed and heating I could control. The shower was perfectly good and the room was clean. As someone who used to stay in 130 hotels a year this would be no good for work as there is no desk. If though you just need a room for a night I would recommend. One minor niggle you do not get a glass in the room, even a plastic one would be better than nothing. This is not a luxury hotel so my stars are based on value for money not the quality of the cotton used in the sheets.

Room Tip: I did not use the hotel car park but the recommended station car park is a five minute walk away.

Nice, clean and comfortable room for someone to stay. It could provide a table and a chair. The facility has immediate access to Reading station and the town centre. The staff was helpful and especially Angelika was really nice, friendly, caring and eager to help anytime someone needs that. I would recommend easyhotel in Reading to anyone looking for a temporary accommodation in a highly accessible location and enjoys walks along the river Thames.

Not the best night sleep but for the price you pay it’s not bad. Our room was pretty spacious but some do seem extremely small, make sure you get a room with a window and make sure you take extra pillows and towels. The air con was the most annoying thing as it’s either set to heat or cool for the whole hotel so the room is often boiling until you ask reception to set it back to ‘cool’, then when someone else in the hotel inevitably wants it changed reception will change it back to ‘heat’, I’ve never had to share air con settings with other hotel rooms it’s a bit odd. Can open the windows but it’s a very busy road so noisy. Also couldn’t ever park at the hotel as there’s only about 4 spaces but you can park nearby on side roads overnight or by the crowne plaza overnight for free.

Dear PaulsW9289Ja, Thank you for your time to review your stay. Our hotel has a central aircon system. Hotel rooms are also slightly smalled thar ordinary hotels howeve still with essential facilities for the night. Hotel parking is limited to only 7 spaces available on first come first serve basis. Kind regads Ignacy General Manager

Bed is rock solid with two thin insubstantial pillows. There is barely enough space to get out of one side of the bed or round the foot of it to the point where I would have concerns over fire safety. There is not a single flat surface in the room to set clothes or bags on bar the floor and a 3" x 3" shelf either side of the bed, not even enough for a book.
The decor is peeling, the blinds barely cover the window. The air conditioning needs the filter cleaning after a single night my eyes and nose were irritated by the air. There is an odd smell in the building, like stale smoke but it may be the air con filter.
The walls are very thin so noise carries throughout.
The staff were very friendly and accomodating and the free hot and filtered water in the lobby somewhat makes up for the lack of tea and coffee making faciliies in the room. The bathroom was clean although the complimentary toiletries were empty.
The parking area is small but spaces are well marked and lit.

Rooms are very small, very loud bcs location, even with heating on all night was cold, not very clean, and u have to pay extra for everything... which is making that place not so cheap. That was first and last time there.

Booked a room thay specifically said on the advert that although nonrefundable of canceled I could change the date of the booking for free. When I tried to do this the hotel refused!! Very rude! Looking at the other terrible reviews I'm glad we didn't bother staying there and took our booking else where. Despite losing £45 for nothing!! False advertising and a rip off!! Inwoild not of booked if I wasn't able to change the date due to covid!!

Actually I never stayed at this hotel. I booked a room for £50 at 23:59hours as I needed emergency accomodation for some visitors. Plans changed soon after confirming the booking and I called the Hotel to cancel the booking at 00:05hours and I was informed that since my booking was a booking.com flexible rate I would be refunded.
Two months down the line, emails were ignored, calls not actioned from both booking.com and Easy Hotel. At the end I was told that according to sone policy I was not elligible for a refund. Imagine it only took 6 minutes from booking and cancellation of the booking and they said the initial confirmation that I would be refunded which I got was a mistake by the employee who did not fully understand company policy. But still I just got a sorry we can’t refund you your money.
I will never deal with this hotel again.

I'm not usually the type to write negative reviews but want to help others and wish I'd known this before booking.
The big problem we had was the temperature of the room. It was incredibly hot 29+ degrees when we came in and rising to the high 30s. This sort of heat with nothing to cool you down is unbearable, and also so strange for a winter stay! It's a tiny room, and there is less than a foot of space around the bed, with a small walkway and toilet (with glass walls) so with two people it is quite cramped and stuffy.
The rooms either don't have windows, or do but they don't open, so can't be used for temperature control. The thermostat/AC in the room only had the option to heat the room, or a "fan" setting which lightly blew warm air and didn't seem to go off. There was no cool setting at all. I really tried, even looked up the manual, but the system seemed to be preset this way.
We went downstairs to ask for help with the room being so hot. The lady was kind, but explained that the thermostat is centrally controlled and that the cold setting had been removed for guests because it was winter. She said there was no way that they could change it at all, and there was no point in reporting it or escalating it because there was nothing the hotel staff could do as they didn't have access to the system. They suggested I contact Easyhotel customer services. She said we were not the only ones with this issue. The following day a staff member did offer us a small fan from their desk which was sweet, but there is no space around the bed or plug sockets to put the fan.
(We ended up balancing it on my suitcase wedged down the side of the bed, not ideal but helped a bit)
The room was a bit dusty, the bed isn't fab and a very small double, the pillows were very flat and sort of bumpy, and as mentioned, the room is very small. Honestly, these things wouldn't have been an issue if we could have cooled the room down. But, a combination of these things made it absolutely awful. It was so hot that we got dehydrated and ended up with nasty headaches, having to go for walks outside to cool down.
We ended up checking out early and booking somewhere else to stay as it was making us poorly and unable to enjoy the things we had planned each day. We're unfussy, and normally get on with things. It really was bad. Staff were sympathetic but again, said nothing they could do, no other rooms available (and wouldn't have solved the issue apparently) and no offer of refund etc.
If you're looking at booking I would say definitely bring an extension lead and a big fan if you can. Or, ring in advance to check if this A/C issue is still ongoing. I've heard nothing at all from easy hotel customer services since our stay, so I don't know what is happening with it.

It was my first stay away from home after lockdown. My company booked my a non window room at Easy Hotel Reading and to be honest I did not expect much for £39. I was very surprised that hotel was so good. Friendly welcome on arrival from receptionist, I was given free upgrade to lovely room with bay window overlooking main road. All safety measures were explained in details, plenty of hand sanitising stations throughout the building, Room was large and could benefit from few furnitures, table and couple of chairs will be nice but it did not bother me as been staying only for 2 nights. Contact less check out without any paperwork to sign and invoice was send directly to my email within an hour. I would highly recommend this hotel for short stays,
