Good internet, nice village style place but little on the expensive side if staying on business. Food was good quality although if a picky eater you may be a little stuck for choice ect. Air con in the room was excellent given we had our day of summer that week too.

Our evening meal in the restaurant was terrible, particular the steak part of steak frites. I asked or my steak to be cooked "medium to well" but what turned up was literally more like an old builders boot tough as hell and virtually impossible to cut or chew. I left most of it while the salad and frites that came... More

We had dinner for three midweek. Lovely ambience of an old coaching inn, comfortable with well spaced tables. Friendly and professional service. The menu was imaginative and the food delicious, well-presented. In particular the smoked salmon, a chunk, not the usual slice, was miraculously tender. Portions reasonable (i.e. not too big) so we were comfortable having dessert. Nice wine list... More

We stayed two nights at the Bear Hotel. Upon arrival we were asked whether we would like to upgrade to a suite and as the weather was extremely hot and the suite had air conditioning we decided to upgrade at an additional cost of £20 per night. The suite led off from the main road and was extremely cute and... More

When checking in you are forced to go through an extensive process where they will ask you lots of questions. All you want to do is check in. Having to wait for the only card machine to take a card authorization without any apology or concern wasn't very welcoming. My friend was given a higher rate incorrectly. Instead of looking... More

Visited on a friday afternoon with friends upon arrival there were no staff to greet us and wandered around waiting to be served. When we were finally greeted the waitress didnt seem to know where we should sit. We ended up in a delightful lounge upstairs, however, the staff seemed to forget we were there! The afternoon tea itself was... More

We stayed here this weekend (21st-23rd July 2016) as we were attending a wedding at Blehiem Palace and all the wedding party also stayed there. We got to the hotel and went into our room (Room 37) as you went up more and more stairs you soon felt the heat of the building rising. This of course is totally understandable... More

Nice hotel lovely old building and clean spacious room. However we were greeted although politely by a very unfriendly receptionist and were certainly not made to feel welcome. Only ate breakfast and as the weather was very warm there were flies in the restaurant which were all over the cold meat and cheese selection. Another guest pointed this out to... More
